Furniture

Today we went ahead and ordered our baby furniture! We absolutely love it, but have to wait 10-12 weeks for it to come in. We want to give a big THANK YOU to Fred & Sandra and Lindsay & Greg - we can't wait for you all to see it! For a preview, I found a few pictures online...

We ended up deciding on the Cabernet color, which is a cherry like finish. In the picture above, we got the crib that converts to a toddler bed and then to a full size bed! Hopefully this will be the furniture our baby can use for many many years! (We did not get the armoire, it just happens to be in the picture I found online). We also got the 6 drawer dresser and hutch. The hutch isn't shown above, but I found one that does show it below! We also got a nightstand so that it can be a complete set when he/she gets older!

THANK YOU Poth's & Lanham's again! We love you all and can't wait to get our nursery decorated and ready for Baby Poooth!

Big Fish Everywhere!!

Last weekend Lex, Ryan and Clayton headed to Florida for a deep sea fishing trip! They had a great set up getting to stay with Ryan's sister and going out to see with Ryan's brother's friend who is a commercial fisherman! They had a great time (except for a little sea sickness)! I am loving all the seafood he brought home though! They caught a ton of fish, but only brought the big Grouper home...which is quite tasty! They also brought some fresh shrimp, which is always a nice treat! Here are a few pictures to document their successfuly trip! Yummy!

14 Weeks!

Cool Facts I found online about our little one:

Your Baby
Think of it this way: You're a third of the way through and baby's a third of the way cooked. Now that the "big stuff" (like skeletal and organ development) is taken care of, your baby starts a period of rapid brain growth, fat buildup and detail work. Highlights this week include:

Your baby now has fingerprints! Book 'em, Danno! Believe it or not, he actually created them himself while swimming around in the amniotic fluid. As he moved his hands, the skin on the tips of his fingers formed unique ridges and folds. That's why no one on earth has the same fingerprints, not even identical twins! Cool, right? Baby's arms are now in proportion to his tiny body, but his legs are still on the short size in comparison.

Your baby continues to gain new and impressive skills such as practicing and controlling voluntary muscle movements (this will help him fling food across the room later in life). Your tiny dancer's movements are no longer the jerky, uncontrollable twitches of yore—he now moves with graceful control.

Your baby now weighs about an ounce and is the length of a flip phone, or roughly 3.5 inches—he's tripled in size from a mere three weeks ago! Luckily, you haven't done the same.

Happy 2nd Trimester & Valentine's Day

Yesterday we celebrated the beginning of the 2nd Trimester (and more importantly - the end of the 1st - yeah!) and Valentine's Day in Atlanta! I finally felt up to doing something on the weekend and luckily it has been a beautiful weekend - sunny and 70!

We started the day early by going to the Georgia Aquarium - if you haven't heard of it - it's HUGE! We had been wanting to go for a while and actually tried to go once before with my parents, but it was July 4th weekend and the line was out of control. This time we were smart and bought our tickets online, but luckily it wasn't too crowded anyway! Here we are outside the Aquarium on what a beautiful day!

We caught one of the scuba divers in the tank feeding the coral, that was pretty neat!

One of the best and funniest parts were the Sea Otters - they knew how to play it up for the audience!

These whale sharks were HUGE! They had three in this tank!

Here's a good shot of the tank that the whale sharks were in - look at how small the people are - that's how big this tank was!

Lex loved picking out all the fish he has caught before. I think his favorite are the Grouper! Here he is wishing he could catch and eat this one!

After the aquarium, we headed to the Mall of Georgia, did a little shopping, went to a movie and then went to Pappadeaux's for dinner! This was a major treat for us, since we can't get that in Greenville. We felt like we were in Texas for the day - Pappadeaux's & we saw the first James Avery we have ever seen in this area. And the best part was that the only charms they had out for colleges - was A&M's!! WHOOP! We loved that!

Overall, we had a great day! We are so happy to be past the 13 week mark and fellin' good! Next weekend Lex is planning to go fishing with some guys in Florida - so we celebrated Valentine's Day a little early as well!
