Our little Texan (at Heart)

Although Katelyn is not technically a Texan (yet)...she sure loves Texas and all her family and friends! We spent an entire week in Dallas visiting my parents and got to see some of our family and friends while we were there. We had a blast and hope to see everyone again soon. Here are a few pictures, somewhat in order, to show you how much fun we had!

Our little Aggie! Thank you Morgan's for the adorable outfit!
Lots of fun playtime with Grandma
Reading the news with Pops (way to early in the morning)

Grandma helping Katelyn check out the house

Cindy and Drew came for several of the days we were there. It was so much fun to have the two kids together. We are so excited they are so close in age and we have a feeling this Christmas is going to be A LOT of fun! Here they are both tuckered out after a long fun day!

We went to the aquarium in Dallas and Drew LOVED the "Pintada" jaguar...or he just loved the word Pintada! He kept us entertained with his belly laugh everytime we said the word! Adorable! (sorry the pic is a little blurry, but you can see the jaguar in the background)

Loving the birds and the aunt eater!

Checking each other out!

Pops showing Katelyn the sting rays (just ignore the strange man in the pic..haha)!

Proud grandparents!

This could have been a good picture, but someone decided to try and be funny! haha

Katelyn LOVED the dancers and drums, so I had to get a picture with them. All she was interested in though was the rainstick!

Grandma taking advantage of Katelyn not wanting to sleep in her pack and play for her nap! So sweet!

Taking Pops down, oh the things she will do to play with glasses! :o)

This girl loves to bounce! Grandma kept her busy for a long time bouncing on her knee!

Three Generations

The first night we got there we saw a rabbit in the backyard! You should have seen this girl go crazy! Her arms and legs were flapping in excitement!

We visited Me-Maw and she found all kinds of fun toys to play with!

Playing in the sprinklers for the first time and she loved it.

Getting her first piano lesson, she got a little more in to it later on. :o)

Visiting Granny in Fort Worth. She too had some great toys for her to play with. These great grandma's were ready to see her go and she did! All day long entertainment.

Good Morning Cousin Drew & Auntie Cindy

On Saturday we invited some friends and family over. Here's Susan with our little Aggie. She gave Katelyn a beautiful bracelet that you can see in the picture. This girl LOVES jewelry! :o)

Pamela brought over Brenden (who just turned one this week). He is walking like crazy, so it was great to see him in action! Happy Bday Brenden!

Trying to get them to stand next to each other. Love those baby bellies!

Visiting with Me-Maw and her two great grand-kids

Matt, this one is for you...Drew, the prince(ss)! :o)

On Father's Day, Shane and the fam came over to celebrate. This was their first time to meet baby Drew, so it was great for us all be together at the same time.

Playing with Jonathan

We actually got a great family picture (minus Lex and Matt...who were spending their first father's day relaxing...haha...remember that next Mother's Day :o)

Sweet Drew, love those big blue eyes

Sprinklers again with Drew, he wasn't quite a fan yet, but I'm sure they'll be running around like crazy together next summer!

Fauxhawk :o)
Pops and Grandma...loving life!

First visit to the mall playground, where she got her first kiss! Another little boy, probably about a year and half old, caught me off guard and planted a big wet one on K's lips and she kissed right back! haha! Oh boy, the germs, but it was actually pretty cute too!

A couple of other firsts that happened that week (for those that are curious :o) She said several words, her first official word being Water! We've also heard her say...doggie, thank-you, bye bye bottle and duck so far. It's amazing how quickly she is picking up on things and starting to repeat what we are saying too.
She also was teething the week we were in Dallas and her top two teeth popped thru! Yeah! Now she has 4 teeth! She is pointing now and has started a forced/fake laugh, that is hilarious. She loves to laugh and pretty much does this forced laugh all day long! We love it! It seems like there may have been something else too, but that's all I can think of for now.
It was a milestone week that's for sure!

Missing Cousin Drew

We are still in Texas, but saw Drew and Cindy off this morning. Here is a video of cousin Drew telling us lots of stories on the way to the airport!

He loves the word Pintada, which is the kind of jaguar we saw at the Dallas World Aquarium earlier in our trip! He just gets a kick out of it! Love him!

More pics to come of our trip soon!

Videos by Request

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted any videos. I am not great about uploading videos to blogger mainly because it takes much longer than pictures, so today I took the time to upload three. I hope you enjoy!

We had to teach Katelyn to sit on her bottom now that she can pull up on her own. Before, she would fall like a tree, backwards with her head curved back knowing we were there to catch her. This works a little better :o)

(Sorry this one is sideways. You may want to turn the volume down too, I am apparently pretty loud on these videos! Enjoy)

She is really getting good at pulling up too, almost too good! She is getting a little over confident in her abilities and not being quite as careful as she was just a week ago. I have a feeling this means there may be some falls in store :o(

We recently got her a push toy that she can walk around the house with. I am still a little nervous about letting her do this on her own. I can just picture her forgetting to move her feet forward while continuing to push and landing flat on her face! Yikes! She hasn't done that yet, but I'm staying close by just in case :o)

Hope y'all aren't getting tired of me lately. Katelyn is just at such a fun age right now. She is learning so much and I just can't sit back and watch, I have to share it with you guys! :o)

10 Months

Katelyn is now 10 months old, only two more months until we have a one year old! That sounds like such a long way in baby days, yet just right around the corner in adult days! Gotta soak up all those baby days I can!
Our little stinker....

...trying to figure out what this crazy contraption is...

...resisting her afternoon nap yesterday, by climbing all over her crib instead...

...trying to reach for those crumbs she left behind at breakfast, yum, yum....

....trying so hard to get to that computer cord...

....has become a climber like her momma was as a baby, uh oh....

...now how do I get down from here??...

...trying to find crumbs Mommy & Daddy left behind...

We look forward to all the new explorations our little stinker has in store!

Allison's Visit

Tuesday, one of my good friends from college, Allison, came to visit for the week!!! We loved having her here! We were able to show her around Greenville a little, do a little shopping and of course a lot of eating! It was so nice to see her and catch up!

Katelyn just loved her! She recently starting giving us kisses on demand and even gave Allison a few kisses! As you can tell, she was having a blast!

Unfortunately, Katelyn came down with Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (which is a virus that has been going around like crazy). She had up to 102 fever, her first real fever and sickness, which we are so thankful it took this long for her to get sick, yet it is no fun to watch her in pain. She is doing much better now, but still has bad sores in her throat, so it will be a few more days before she feels 100% again.

Anyways, hopefully next time we see Allison we can entertain her a little more!

We miss you!
