It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas....

everywhere you go.... :o)

We are getting in the Christmas spirit around here. We got Christmas pics taken before Thanksgiving in hopes to beat the crowd, which didn't work - it was crazy, but definitely worth it. Here are the pics...we only ordered 4 of the poses, but they gave us a CD of all the proofs. Katelyn did great and was all smiles the whole time, I don't know how the photographers do it, their job seems like it takes way too much energy for me! They did great!

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we continued our tradition of hosting Thanksgiving here at our house. We were happy to have my sister and nephew here for the first time at Thankgiving too! Time went by way too fast, we are sad they are all gone but can't wait to see them all again with Christmas right around the corner.
Beautiful flowers that Lindsay & Greg sent (we missed them this year)!

Cindy & Drew all decked out for the A&M/t.u. game! Gig'em!

Mimi playing with the kiddos! Notice, their bibs! They were too cute to eat with, for pics only :o)

Cousins, sharing...awww!
Our little Diva...the pic below she is "talking" on her cell phone!

Grammy & Katelyn...here's a better pic of her bib too! Gobble Gobble!

Pops & Drewski

Cousins... I am so happy they are so close in age, can't wait to watch them grow up together!

Pappy, Katelyn & Mikey (of course) reading the newspaper, so sweet!
Katelyn got really good at giving Drew his paci back to him whenever she found one lying around.
Awww, how much cuter could he get! Love it!!!
Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Ciomperliks (Julie, Clayton, Logan & Cole), Grammy, Pappy, Mimi, Pops, Aunt Cindy, Cousin Drew & Lex...notice I did't quite make it :(
I had ANOTHER Thyroid surgery on Tuesday of this past week. We planned it so that we would have plenty of family here to help while I was at the hospital and at home recovering. Well, the outpatient procedure turned into basically Tuesday - Friday in the hospital. Yuck! I was released on Wednesday afternoon feeling great, went home and at 3 am woke up realizing that I could feel some swelling in my throat, scared of not being able to breathe if the swelling got worse we headed to the ER where they admitted me and gave me some drugs to reduce the swelling, but wouldn't let me go until Friday morning for observation. Overall, I think it was a blessing since I was pretty much forced to lay in bed and relax for another 24 hours. Anyways, I go back Tuesday to get my stitches out, so hopefully by that point I will start feeling back to normal a little bit.
We are very thankful to have had our families here to take wonderful care of Katelyn. I did not worry at all about her, I knew she was being spoiled to death and loving every minute of it. I worried more about her wearing out her Aunt & Grandparents :) Although when I came home, she sure gave me a warm welcome! I sure love a good cuddle from my baby girl.
This Thanksgiving we are most Thankful for our Family!!! (As always, but very very thankful for their help this week)! We love you all!

15 Months

Katelyn turned 15 months on the 5th, but we just went to her well check today. She did surprisingly well. In months past she normally would fuss anytime a nurse/doc was anywhere near her. This time she smiled, waved, & talked to them, I was nicely surprised! Here are her stats:
Height - 33" - 98% (First time she's been this high, surprisingly - I thought she would have been up in the 98th percentile from day 1...we've finally hit it, not surprising! :o)
Weight - 25lbs 8 oz - 86%
Head - 18 1/2" - 89%
We are thankful to have a happy healthy baby girl!
We were also happy to hear that her language skills seem to be developing well too. We have always thought she was a very "verbal" kid. Since day 1 she hasn't been afraid to tell us what she needs, that's for sure :o) The doc even said that she is one of the most talkative 15 month olds she's seen in awhile, but you never know if she was just telling us that to make us feel good! Just so I'll remember, here are a few of the words that she says really well...hi, bye bye, mommy, daddy, pappy, mimi, Kristen & Tina (her teachers), wa wa (water), cracker, baby, rock, moon, milk, duck, quack, kitty cat, hot, mana (banana), turtle, shoes, happy, cuuu (cute), hat, ball, cooking, up, chair...and she signs...thank you, please, eat, more, milk, water...some animal sounds....baaa baaa (sheep), roar (lion), ooo ooo ahh ahh (monkey), moo (cow), cocka (rooster), quack (duck), oooo (elephant). There are probably others, but that's all I can think of for now. We are loving this stage and just trying to enjoy everyday!

Mimi

Mimi (formerly known as Grandma...:o) came to visit Katelyn and I this past week! We are so thankful that she was able to come out on such a short notice to help out and keep us company while Lex was in England. We had a lot of fun shopping, playing and eating! Here are a few pictures of her visit.

Playing in the neighborhood park.
Cool pic Mom (Mimi) took of Katelyn at the library looking out the window, look at her reflection, pretty cool!
Costco....Look at that big girl shopping with Mimi! I have a feeling Katelyn is going to be a shopper. She loves to just walk around the store and touch everything. We just came from church, so we are all dressed up. Don't you love her outfit, sweet girl!

Reading with Mimi on her new table (early Christmas present from her Grammy & Pappy)! I thought about waiting to bring it out until Christmas, but then I realized she doesn't really "get" Christmas yet anyway, so we might as well enjoy it now! Thanks so much Poth's...she LOVES her table!!! Cant' wait for y'all to come watch her play on it in a few weeks!

Playing with Mikey....best present we have bought her yet!! She loves him so much!!

Mommy & Katelyn before church.

Reading at the Library before our Mother Goose on the Loose baby class.

Thanks again Mimi for your visit. We loved having you and miss you already! Only another week and a half and you'll be back for Thanksgiving! See you then!!
