Our Little Guppie

Katelyn started her first swim lessons this month and has been doing great! She has been a little hesitant about us not getting in with her, but after some motivational talks she does great and really has fun! Here are a few pictures from today!

Levi is 6 Months (and 11 days)!!

Happy 1/2 a year to our little Levi! He's actually 11 days past due of this post, but with our vacation, some slight sickness and not going to his well-check until yesterday, I am just now able to post.

He is currently:
19 lbs. 12 oz (81%)
28" (89%)

Our big boy is growing up (as I tell Katelyn) "a little bit more everyday". He is sitting like a pro, lunging for toys (and sometimes toppling as he reaches too far), moving in half circles when on his belly, scooting short distances on his back, talking up a storm, laughing at the strangest things, we think he's even starting to recognize a few words (his name, jump -  he jumps on command in his jumper now, and  scoot - scoots on command when he's on his back), he's very close to cutting his bottom two teeth (the doc said they should pop through in 1-2 weeks), eating solid food (he hates peas and isn't a huge fan of peaches, but everything else has been pretty tasty), wanting to have a bite and a drink of everything I have, he's a nuzzler (smushes his little face/eyes into my face, shoulder when he gets tired), takes 3 good naps and sleeps 11-12 hours, he has started some separation anxiety (puts out his big booboo lip, but doesn't cry), he loves music (I can usually change his mood easily with some good tunes), loves to be held - no matter how hungry or tired he is, if we are holding him he won't care, and he is ALL boy - we can already tell a difference in how he plays versus Katelyn and can't wait to see what the next 6 months hold!

That is all I can think of for now, but my how he has changed in the last few weeks.
I remember how big I thought Katelyn was and how much she learned the second half of her first year, I can't wait to watch Levi and learn more about his little personality. I've already started thinking about his First Birthday Party theme, I need to sloooooow down :)

Tennessee Vacay

This past week we took our first vacation as a family of 4 to Gatlinburg, TN. We had a great time and created a lot of fun memories. We can't wait to go back when the kids are a little older and we can do even more! We rented a little condo on the top of a mountain and had a great view from our balcony, which was especially nice in the evenings watching the sunset!

We went up to a ski resort, Ober Gatlinburg, and did the ski lift, an alpine slide down the mountain, saw some bears and rode the carousel (3 times)!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Loving him some Sofie and check out those eyes - love him!!

The condo complex had an indoor pool, 2 hot tubs and an outdoor pool. We went swimming everyday and sometimes twice a day. The outdoor pool was still a little cold and it rained all day on Tuesday so it was nice to have the indoor option. I think we could have just gone swimming everyday and Katelyn would have been happy - she could have stayed in all day if we let her. Levi really liked it too, especially chewing on the noodle!

Check out my pruney feet, their tasty too! :)

We also went to the aquarium, which was a big hit!

Swimming with Nemo!

We drove the Motor Nature Trail one evening before dinner while the kids both napped. What a great idea! We got to see a lot of waterfalls and river views without the long hike with 2 kids!

Another mountain view from our condo complex, the drive up the mountain was at times about a 20% grade, luckily I never had to do any driving and Lex got used to it pretty quickly.

We did do some hiking along a nature trail that led to Cataract Falls at the National Park. It was about a 1-2 mile hike, perfect for little legs.

(I know, the hats are a little silly, but hey - they sure keep the sun off them!) Here's Katelyn kissing the signs along the nature trail, silly kiddo.

Cataract Falls

Our little 6 month old, crazy how time flies! We go to his 6 month appt on Thursday, so I'll post his official pics and stats after that! And here he is sitting in his first high chair out at a restaurant, such a cutie!!
