Itty Bitty Pretty One

Katelyn had her dance pictures done during class this morning, so we got all dolled up....blush, lipstick, hairspray and all! She's the cutest little dancer I know, LOVE!!! Her dance recital is in a few weeks, so more pictures and possibly a video to come!

Texas Visit

I am finally getting around to posting our pictures from our trip to Dallas last week. We found a great deal on Southwest and thought I would try my first trip with 2 kids, sans Daddio! It had it's stressful moments, but overall it was completely doable and worth it.  I'm breaking this up into 4 posts, so keep reading!

April Bluebonnets in my parents neighborhood!

Pretty good traveling kiddos....

Although I did offer way more candy and gum than I prefer normally, it made the trip a whole lot easier for me and the kiddos.

Holly Lake Ranch, Texas

Two of the nights we were in town, we spent at Holly Lake (near Tyler, TX) where my parents have a cabin and a fixer house. We had been there for 1/2 a day last summer, but it was nice to get out and explore a little more this time. It still wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the pool, but Katelyn had to try. It is beautiful, that is for sure!

We stopped in Saline, TX to lick the salt rock on the way to Holly Lake.

Can you spot Pops and the kids? They are so tiny under these huge trees.

It was a challenge keeping Levi out of the water...

Katelyn enjoyed finding all kinds of things to throw into the water and Levi too.

Park time

Pops sure seems to enjoy the playground just as much as the kids, even teaching Katelyn things like letting go when you get to the top of the jungle gym...what?!?

One of their favorites...wading at the beach area.

The brief stint in the pool. She probably would have gone in if I had gone with her, but there was no way, it was super cold.

So we tried Putt Putt for the first time.

A little Peek A Boo time with Mimi in the morning.

Tinker-toys...we need to get some of these!

My Dad took me to the gun range for the first time too...he's either a great teacher or I'm just a good shot. But I got 3 bullseyes! (The last one shot after this picture was taken.) We shot shotguns and handguns. I think I know my next profession...haha, JK.

Visit with Granny

We also were able to go see my Granny, the kids great grandmother, one of the days we were there. The kids had a great time and Levi gave lots of loving!

Grammy & Pappy in Carrollton

We were so glad that Sandra & Fred were able to come up from Pleasanton to visit with us as well, it's not the same being in Texas if we don't get to see both sets of grandparents! We had a great time playing at my parents house, eating out at the Rainforest Cafe, Babes and Los Lupes...Rainforest Cafe being the kids favorite - they were obsessed with the moving elephants!

Babes - Hokey Pokey

We also all hit up the aquarium in Grapevine...we had a great time!

We've been to a few aquariums but this was the first (that I can recall) that has a glass floor....it was strange walking on top of sharks, etc!

This was one night at Mimi & Pop's house before bed...my Mom took some pretty cute pictures of bedtime hugs and kisses!

And lots of smiles from our boy that has now decided to smile for the camera and say cheese!!! I'm trying to take full advantage before he grows out of this stage!

Full on "Cheeeeeeese" face!

Fun in the backyard with bubbles.

Katelyn in her own little world playing with Hansel & Gretel  (and a seahorse) at this table her great-grandfather made my Mom when she was a little girl.
