Boo in the Zoo

Last weekend we went to Boo in the Zoo with our friend's The Prater's. We had never been before and really enjoyed it. The kids had a blast and Levi got some practice saying "Trick or Treat".

Our "Belle"

And our little Duck

Katelyn, Andy, Colin & Levi

It was crowded, but the lines moved quickly to get their treats!

Katelyn trying on the Duck costume...she wanted a picture of her tail. :) It was just a little bit small on her..haha!

Our friend's the Knox's had a Halloween party this Saturday as well, that was so cute and fun! This time, Katelyn went as Aurora. I guess she decided to rotate through her princess dress this Halloween! Works for me!
We can't wait for Thursday to go trick or treating through the neighborhood! Katelyn is super excited and I am excited to see if Levi will join in. I think once he gets the hang of it and realizes he gets candy, he'll join right in!

Perfect Day for a Picnic

Thursday of this past week we spontaneously decided to pack a quick picnic and head down to our neighborhood park to eat lunch. We had such a great time!

My big boy walking to the park.

This was from a few weeks ago, Katelyn had her first "homework". If they did this and brought it back to preschool, they got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest! She has really become quite the little student. Wanting to please her teachers. They had picture day this past week and told the kids to practicing smiling in the mirror when they brushed their teeth that night (she showed me the wrong way to smile/monster smiles). When I told her that I knew she would smile pretty. She came back saying that her teachers told her to practice, so she better do what they say. I love it! I have a feeling she's going to be a good little student!

My CHEESE face boy at his ear check doctor visit the other day. He smiles so big, his eyes close :)

Texas Trip

We spent the first week of October in the Dallas/Tyler area visiting my family and Lex's family for his cousin's wedding. We had a great time and got to do a lot of fun things and see a lot of great friends and family! Here are a few pictures of our trip. I wasn't great about taking pictures myself, so we missed a few events - visiting my friend Susan and meeting her new baby, Emmy; and visiting my grandmother, Granny; and actual pictures of the wedding in Tyler (our main reason for the trip..haha)! Thanks Mom for sending me most of these pictures!

Mimi and Pops time...park, splash park, another park, fun!

We were also able to spend a whole day at the State Fair of Texas. Here's us with Big Tex in the background!

Katelyn and Lex rode the Ferris Wheel, it was huge and Katelyn was insistent on riding it. No fear, that girl!

The rest of us hung out on the ground and ate cotton candy!

Fun characters we saw on the street.

Petting Zoo

Nap time! Sweet, happy boy!

Katelyn's first "real" roller coaster...she did great and got off with big smiles!

Levi stuck with the carousel :)

Dog show

While we were there, we were also able to go watch my Mom's band perform. They kids really loved it, for about 15 minutes :) They especially loved playing with her clarinet and on their piano.

After our visit in Dallas, we headed to Holly Lake/Tyler for the wedding. My parents were so great to watch the kids for us so Lex and I could have 2 nights in a hotel for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. We were able to do a little fishing with them and go to a Duck Derby festival at Holly Lake during the day on Saturday. Two of my parents ducks actually won prizes AND Miss Katelyn won the grand prize Kitty Cake in the last Cake Walk! She had an advantage with her Lucky Charm Hello Kitty shirt on :) Boy was she sooo excited! And was excellent, probably a $50 specialty cake if you had ordered it!

WORMS!!

Earlier in the week we also went to the Flight Museum at Love Field in Dallas. They had a great kids area and some really cool planes on display. Including some Southwest Planes you can explore on.

Also, earlier in the week we went to Fort Worth to see Lindsay and Greg's new house and out to dinner. These two have lots of fun together!

The one picture that Fred took of us at the Rehearsal Dinner! Best picture of us in awhile, thanks Fred!
