Making Progress

This weekend we starting getting little Lima Bean's room ready. First step, paint! Second, getting Levi into his "big boy bed"!

The kids really got into it and wanted to help. Here's the before...

And the after! I really love it!  Lex did a great job! I didn't get a good picture of the other side of the room with the curtains hung because with the sun shining through the window the coloring turns out all wrong. Once we get the furniture in, I'll take a picture in the evening when the sun is down.

28 weeks - this past Sunday. Katelyn took this picture for me :)  Not too bad.

Levi has been in his "big boy bed" for the past 3 nights with complete success!! He has yet to get out of bed, he falls right asleep, sleeps all night, sleeps later AND doesn't cry when he wakes up anymore (same for naps)...just plays until I come and get him! Wow - huge improvement! He has been paci free for about a month and after getting rid of his paci, he was waking some in the night and needing us to scratch his back or tell him to go back to sleep, he rarely slept until 7 anymore, sometimes waking at 5:15 not wanting to go back to sleep! And would cry for us to get him as soon as he woke up. So far, this bed has been the answer! He must LOVE his new bed! And therefore I do too! Yay!

Boo for stomach bugs!

I don't know where they caught it, but both kids woke up Tuesday night throwing up. Ugh! It didn't last too long, but we were wiped out all day Wednesday and then I caught it Thursday afternoon...to be expected, I guess, but it's the first time we've ever had it, so I was hoping it was something they ate, nope :(

They were both so sweet falling asleep watching TV Wednesday, so I had to take some pics of my sweet sick babies.

Luckily, we are all back to normal. Thankful that is over!

Lima Bean

My parents came over after Drew's Birthday Party for a couple of nights and my Mom and I had a chance to go shopping for our newest little Lima Bean's room decor. I had decided on Navy Blue and white for his room and already have his curtains hanging, but we decided it needed a little more color...so we did add in some bright green for a few accents. Love the material we found and can't wait to see what she comes up with for the quilt :)  Thanks Mom!!

Getting settled!

We are starting to feel fairly settled her in our new house. Katelyn started school and is really enjoying it! We've got our first play date with one of her new friends (who also happens to have a 2 year old little brother - yay!) on Monday! Here she is all dressed up for her first day of school (a few weeks ago).

We've really been enjoying our new backyard and neighborhood. Although it's a bit hilly to ride a bike on, which really stinks! We've been doing our best to ride in the driveway and take the bikes down to the neighborhood park.

The Oak trees around here make for some great climbing trees!

We've also been getting out and trying a few new things around town. Levi and I go to the Toddler library program on Tuesdays when Katelyn is in school and they both tried out some gymnastic classes at The Little Gym! We've got another trial class scheduled at a local gymnastic studio for Katelyn as well.

Of course, we have to check out all the local cuisine too...this is just subway, but we have several Chick-fil-A's and McDonald's around that we have been scouting out for the best playground. So far, the kids approve them all!

This is just a quick pic of me enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee on our new couch during nap time one day! Our downstairs is still fairly bare, but we do really like our new couch. We've got lots of fun plans for the living and dining areas, but we've got plenty of time....it's fun to shop around. We do have a dining room table semi-ordered, but it's from a catalog so the store ordered and is going to let us look at it before we buy! It should be in, in another week or two. Yay! Although I'm not sure where to put the kids trampoline once we do get a table.

This picture sure makes the walls look dark, they are brown, but not quite this dark in person. It wouldn't be my top choice in wall color, but will do for now.

The upstairs is pretty much our hang out spot. All the kids toys, the TV room, their rooms, etc...it's very casual and relaxed. Here is the built in desk we've made into a nice craft area for the kids.

These pictures are all so dark since I just took them with my phone. Once we get really organized and decorated, maybe I will take some better pictures of the house for those that won't be able to visit soon.

Here is the upstairs game room/playroom. It's a mess, we've been playing there all morning. :)

I am really enjoying our new kitchen too. We had to get a new fridge, which was an expensive, but fun purchase. We have a gas stove, which has taken some getting used too as well. My favorite part is the butlers pantry/my coffee bar :)

Horrible picture, but the kids are helping me make pancakes for dinner one night!

We also went to check out the San Antonio Children's Museum one night. The kids had a blast and keep asking to go back, so I guess that's a good sign. I will say, it is much older and run down than the Greenville one, but will work for now. They are building a new one though, so hopefully it will be bigger and nicer, can't wait!

Overall, we've been doing our best to get to know this town. There is so much more to learn and a lot more people to meet and we can't wait. Although we do miss our Greenville life, I can already tell this is going to be a great place to raise the kids!

Happy 4th Birthday Drew!

This past weekend, we headed to Houston to celebrate Drew's 4th Birthday! Cindy did a great job planning such a fun party at the Houston Zoo! You could tell Drew loved every minute of his party! We had a blast!

The Houston Zoo was so great! We can't wait to go back and spend more time exploring!

Katelyn and Jack (one of Cindy's friends little boys) really got along well. Jack even asked Katelyn over to watch a movie when they played at Thanksgiving and then at the zoo this time, he wanted to ride the carousel with her and hold hands :) First crush :)

We were able to spend a few days at Cindy and Matt's house along with Mimi and Pops. Pops brought his golf cart down to Houston for Drew to take a ride on his birthday (and all the kids joined in of course)!

Fun playing with Aunt Cindy!
