Prater's Visit

This past weekend our good friend's, The Prater's, came to visit us. It was so nice to see them and catch up on life for the past year and a half. The kids had so much fun playing with Andy & Colin! We went swimming, cooked out, ate popsicles, had their first sleepover, went to a bounce house, ate at the Riverwalk, and they just ran wild! We hope to see them all again soon. I hope we'll be able to visit them in SC one day soon!

Summer Fun

Tarantula on our front porch....yikes!

I can't keep her from climbing the walls...literally!

Silly boy!

El Chaparral....best outdoor atmosphere on this side of San Antonio...complete with a playground for the kids!

Petting the dogs at the Helotes Market.

Pump It Up..."Air Hockey" projected down onto a big white board, pretty fun!

VBS Family Night....1,200 kids, 800+ volunteers...amazing week!

Play doh....and Kyler's first time sitting like a big kid in the booster seat.

I'd say summer has started off very well! It's already going by too fast for me, we love not having a schedule!

The 13th month

Kyler is well into his 13th month now, but I had a few pictures to post, so I'll recap what he's up to now.

He started walking full-time about one week after he turned 1. And now he is practically running! He LOVES trashcans and points them out everywhere we go. Costco is a hoot, because there are trashcans at the end of every aisle, so he's constantly entertained...haha! He's "talking" all the time, but most of it we don't understand. He is getting to the point where he is starting to get frustrated when I don't understand what he's saying, so I'm hoping he'll pick up on some baby signs or start saying more words. His favorite are "this" and "that" and recently said "yes". He shakes his head no and one time he shook his head yes. He follows commands really well, so I know he is really understanding a lot. And one of the biggest changes since he turned 1 is that his seperation axiety has majorly declined. He is perfectly fine when I leave with Lex or Grammy watching him and although he still cries when I leave him in the church nursery, they say he stops quickly and happily plays the rest of the time!

Here are pictures of his first hair cut. I decided to cut it myself on a whim a few weeks ago and it turned out okay, don't look too close though.

He loves to feed himself things like yogurt, applesauce, and oatmeal now "with a spoon". He uses the spoon some, but then just digs in with his fingers. And he gets upset with me if I try to help. Happy messy baby!

He's one cool kiddo!

Mother's Day Present

Lex's idea came to life recently, he bought the letters and a three opening frame to create this MOM picture! Boys exchanging ideas at work...love it! Kyler was hard to catch, we took a million pictures, but he did not want to stay still and look at the camera, all while holding the letter where we could read it...imagine that for a "toddler". haha!

Schools out for SUMMER!!

First and Last day of Kinder!!!

Today they watched James and Giant Peach, so they wore their pajamas and took their favorite stuffed animal. They also celebrated August birthdays today, so we sent donuts in for the class to celebrate Katelyn and two others upcoming birthdays. She had a great day, but came home very sad, missing her teacher already (and the extra donuts that she didn't get to bring home :)

She said her one wish for this summer is to spend a whole day at the pool! I'm up for that...done!

She had such a fun year, learned so much, made some good friends and grew a lot!

Here we are at our Mother's Day makeover earlier in May. The kids painted the Mom's nails, did our hair and makeup, and even gave us massages. It was such a cute and fun way to celebrate Mother's Day. Love my sweet girl!

The girls in her class. Minus Amena, one of Katelyn's good friends that was on vacation.

The whole class...mostly! They are holding their awards. Katelyn received the "Skittles Award: For all her colorful ideas". Each kid received an award that had a candy theme. It was really cute. Katelyn has always been very artistic, so I'm assuming that's what her award was for and not her "crazy ideas"...haha! Although, that very well could be right too!

Her best friend Alyssa!

K and I passing out the popsicles at their Kinder end of year party. The teachers asked us to try something new this year and combine all the Kinder classes for an outdoor party. Our class was responsible for the popsicles and then others did fruit kabobs, water sqirters, bubbles, balls/hoola hoops. Katelyn and her BFF Alyssa hung with me passing out popsicles and they loved it! They wanted to "work" by giving their friends popscicles! It was super cute!

We are ready for summer!! Pool here we come!
