Levi's Legoland

Lego's were such a great theme for a birthday party. Everyone had fun and I enjoyed prepping for the party - decorations, games, etc. There are so many ideas on Pinterest!!

We started with "5 Minute Lego Challenges". So each kid got a bowl of Legos that I had already sorted out, making sure everyone had a good variety to choose from. Round 1 they all made an animal. Round 2 they made a vehicle. Round 3 they made a house.

After that they needed to get some energy out, so we moved to the backyard and they played on the zipline for awhile until we started the relay races.

Relay #1 - Move all the legos from your teams bowl to the other bowl by balancing it on a spoon. This was harder than I had thought. Relay #2 - Hold the Lego between your knees and race down to drop it in the bowl. They had lots of fun with this. But after two races they just wanted to play, so we played.

Can't have a party without pizza, cake & presents. Levi had a blast! We are so thankful for all the parents that brought their kiddos and for all the generous gifts. You made his day!

Happy 6th Birthday, Levi!!

Levi was so excited for his birthday this year!! He had lots of great ideas to help us make his birthday special. It fell on a Wednesday, so he decided he didn't want to wake up early and open presents, instead he wanted us to wake him up with breakfast in bed. He requested juice, fruit, & croissants. I was also able to go up to school and eat lunch with him and Katelyn.....he had a smile on the whole time!

He is also in a "Flight Club" at school - where they are learning all about how to make things that fly - paper airplanes, kits, paper helicopters, etc. So that also fell after school on his birthday, but he didn't want to miss out, so he still went, which I thought he would have chosen to come home and open presents. So mature of him! He requested shrimp for dinner (such an advanced pallet for a 6 year old...LOL...expensive too :) So we got Laguna Madre and brought it home so we could open presents and play with all his new toys that evening. He had the most perfect day! And his favorite present we got him was his very own watch!!

The next day he wore his watch to school and apparently was keeping his teacher in line by making sure they made it to lunch on time. She joked with him that we must have gotten him that present to keep her on time. LOL...we did not, but if it helps, it helps :) He really does love checking the time and learning about numbers right now, so it was a perfect present.

Happy 6 years little man!! We love you so much and know that God has big plans for your life. We are so thankful to have been given you!! Your love for vehicles is still BIG, but you also LOVE Legos, Nerf guns, riding your bike, drawing (that's new since you started Kinder), learning to read, playing the piano, being a trickster, and just having fun! You make life more fun around here, that's for sure!!

Busy Week

In addition to Levi's Birthday being last week and his party, Katelyn had the stomach bug, her Kid's Praise performance, a Girl Scout event, and Mimi & Pops came to visit. It was a super fun & busy week. So here are a few pictures to capture it all and few random ones to help me remember this cutie pie while he's still little. It's hitting me more and more at how fast they grow. And this one is growing up too fast, especially, since he's the baby!

Kids Praise 2017

I love this picture!! The performance this year was called "Levite Genes"....which was so fun since our Levi now knows where his name originated. Katelyn was in the 3rd grade girls dance this year as well, it was a candlelit dance and so sweet. I took a short video, but the lighting was down for the candles so it's hard to see. We love this ministry and hope that Katelyn will cherish these memories for a lifetime.
