Easter

The official bluebonnet pic of 2019! The flowers were so pretty this year, especially out towards La Vernia, where we go to church.

The Saturday before Easter we had Patricia, Victor, Denise, Mark, Matthew, Fred, & Lindsay over for lunch.  Katelyn and I really enjoy setting the table for holidays, so we brought out Mammaws real silver and combined two tables to make one long table.

After lunch we played Skip Bo with half the crew. Such a nice day to sit outside and play!

That night the Easter bunny showed up and brought the kiddos some fun treats in their baskets!

We headed to church for a nice service and then back home where Mimi & Pops came over for lunch and of course to hunt Easter eggs!

Ready.....Set.........

GO

Poor Pops! Cascarones hurt!

Poor Pops again.....LOL

Kyler

I love when his teachers put pictures up of all they do at school...here they were learning about how Jesus washed the disciples feet, so they got to get their feet really dirty (brown paint) and then the teachers washed their feet. He looks so happy here and really seems to love his school!

Then they were learning about Palm Sunday....

Practicing letters in cornmeal (I believe)

And here they were cooking "brownies" (brown E's)....they sent them home with the kids and he played a joke on us that he brought us some brownies from school. Then opened the bag and it was brown construction paper E's....LOL! Love his teachers!

His favorite show is Annedroids and his favorite character is Anne (the girl who created the annedroids), so he's often dressing up like her and pretending to work on his "digital lab notebook" while he programs his robots/annedroids. Love his immagination!

We did some art work outside one day.....

And even splatter painted in the woods!

He came out of his room like this and said...Look, it's Pops! (notice there's no hair on top....only on the side...LOL!)

He cracks me up when he combs his hair like this in the mirror and whistles! The video is the best!

Baseball watching, crafting and lego building with Mimi!

Katelyn

Not long after Kyler got his cast off, Katelyn fell off the swing in our own backyard and broke her wrist. It was her first official cast, but the third time for her to have a broken/sprained wrist!

It was a normal school morning and she and Levi were ready early, so they headed outside to swing for a few minutes before we had to leave. Approximately 2 seconds later, she was back inside crying and holding her wrist. She apparently decided to let go with both hands to pull her hair out of her face and fell straight down onto her wrist and nose. Luckily, we knew where to go since we'd just gone through this with Kyler.

She was so responsible with her cast, kept it dry and clean.  Now that it's off she does the excercies the doc recommended and is building her strength back up quickly. Although, she's really enjoyed being able to sit out of some of the PE games, so she can chat with her friend, Ava, who had a broken foot.

Board games are her love language lately.....love playing with this sweet girl!

And she actually let me braid her hair one day!!!

Omlet love with Mimi!

She too had her field trip recently. The 4th grade went to the Alamo and Mission San Jose. They've been learning about Texas history this year, so it's only appropriate to go to the Alamo!

We headed out a bit early from the field trip and squeezed in a little fun before we picked up the boys. Across the street from the Alamo is a Mirror Maze that she's wanted to try for years. It was harder than we expected. Katelyn was way better at it than me, I just let her take the lead and followed her around. It took us maybe 30 minutes to get through the whole thing. Whew, we were a little worried we wouldn't make it out....LOL!

On the field trip she purchased a Scorpian Sucker as her souvenier.....she was determined to eat the real scorpian inside.....until the first pincher started sticking out and she didn't touch it again. LOL...I didn't think she'd be brave enough to eat it....I sure wouldn't.

She was officially recognized for her 2nd place win at the UIL Ready Writing competition during an awards ceremony a few weeks ago too. This is the best pic I got. :)
