Cooking with Mommy - Levi edition

One thing on our "summer bucket list" was for each kid to learn how to cook something. They each went through our cookbooks, picked out a recipe (or 3), shopped for the ingredients, read the recipe, and did the majority of the cooking themselves. And even cleaned the kitchen after. Levi was first.

The Menu:
Spinach Lasagna Rollups
Scratch made Knot Rolls
(store bought stuffed mushrooms)
Buttermilk Marbled Bundt Cake with Chocolate Gnache Frosting

The Cake.....so tasty!

Fancy Dinner for the family. He set the table, added limes to our waters....

And even cleaned the kitchen after!

This might be one of my favorite things on our bucket list!

Cooking with Mommy - Kyler edition

Kyler chose French Toast for his meal. We even spluged and got the white Texas Toast to make it with :) It turned out great!

Montreal

Lex's company had their annual Leadership Conference in Montreal this year and spouses were invited! They had a welcome dinner the first night on the terrace of the hotel with appetizers and drinks. Such a beautiful night!

The next day they had meetings in the mornings so I got up, got starbucks and started exploring the city bright and early. I made it down to the river then started feeling the aches and pains of the soon to be full blown stomach bug (little did I know it was spreading through out house at home too). I headed back to the hotel and stayed there the rest of the day. Slept mostly, but watch some TV as I started to feel better. Unfortunatley, I had to miss out on the afternoon activies that were planned by his company......an amazing cooking class and a nice steak dinner. BUT food was the last thing on my mind.

Our hotel.....Hotel Place de Arms

Tapas they made at the cooking class. Lex loved it!

The next day I was back to normal but still didn't feel like walking the whole city, so while Lex was in meetings. I hopped on the double decker tour bus and saw the whole city.

Lex was done by 2:00, so we headed out and rode the Ferris Wheel, walked the town, enjoyed the street performers, rode the Metro, found a music festival, had some amazing pizza. And went to bed fairly early to be up at 4:30 for our flight.

Underground City.....this is downtown Montreal. Their shopping is all underground so in the winter people can get around without having to dredge through the snow.

It was a very short trip and even though I was sick, we enjoyed getting away together. Even the flights were nice because I was able to read a whole book in peace and watch 3 movies!

Fun with Mimi and Pops

While Lex and I went to Montreal, Mimi and Pops watched these sweet kiddos. They love their time with Mimi and Pops! And we are so thankful they are willing to hang out with them while we can get away for a short while. BUT....the stomach bug ended up going around the house. Kyler had a mild version, Pops got it, I got it (while in Montreal), Mimi got it....then when we got back in town, Katelyn got it and Levi was last with a pretty mild version too. Lex was the only one who escaped the sickness. We survived and are back to normal, finally!

They saw lots of cool creatures while we were gone too....this walking stick, a tarantula, the garter snake, etc. etc.!

And our "Father's Day dinner" with Pops in Falls City.....Lex got the Monster taco....haha! NOT KETO!

VBS

VBS was a blast this year! I was able to be Levi's crew leader and loved watching him make new friends, sing loud, dance, and learn about God. Each day they had a theme, the first night was crazy hair, then crazy socks, the glow/neon night, and lastly Safari night!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to this guy!! He does so much for us and we are so thankful! Life is so much better with him! He's definitely the more "fun" parent!

This year we picked out a tree for the front yard. The first tree we've planted at our new place! It'll be fun to watch it grow as we grow in this house. And of course a Keto breakfast and lots of homemade cards! We love you!

I was not thinking apparently and didn't get any pictures with Pappy or Pops. We celebrated with Pappy at the ranch and broke in the oven and dishwasher! And then had a belated celebrating with Pops here at our house after Montreal and the stomach bug.....sorry you got gypped :)
