Basketball

Katelyn's been playing basketball again this season! So fun to watch! And she's learning about GRIT this season!

Her pirate buddy is Morgan Pape, who is a starter on the varsity team. We went to the Pirate Steve Crew night and the little girls were invited onto the court to help get the varsity team pepped up. So fun!

DOK

We have really enjoyed DOK...

Learning "Formal Manners" at a meeting earlier this month.

And making cards and cookies for the local first responders this last meeting. Sheriff Tackitt even came to greet and accept the gifts this last meeting. 

DOK Retreat @ Deer Camp

We had the best time on our Mother/Daughter retreat learning about our Love Languages! Plus lots of fun....s'mores, ziplining, low ropes course games, barn swings, tetherball, obstacle course, etc. I was zonked after. But super proud we both made it up the "vertical playground" to go ziplining. It was very intimating at about 4 stories tall and a climb straight up! So glad we did it!

Happy 10th Birthday Drew!

We were so excited to celebrate Drew's Double Digits! He is one amazing, sweet, and tough kid!

Bunk Beds

Lex made bunk beds for Pappy's ranch cabin! We've been thinking/talking about making some for months and they are finally finished! We ended up going with a twin over queen and a twin over twin! Which will allow all of us to be able to sleep at the ranch at the same time! We are looking forward to that! Lex did all the woodwork and I did all the staining. It's not perfect and it was way more tedious that I realized, but it turned out okay in the end! We can't wait to try them out! 

Out and About

We've been having fun this year so far...

I completed a Shutterfly book of our "Fixer Upper" house! It turned out pretty good! Come visit us and I'll show it to you :)

Sunday afternoon.....piano practice and Lex cooking! It was a beautiful sight!

Martin Luther King Day....shopping and park playing! Love hanging out with these kiddos on days off from school.

Love when they all play together....today was a hot wheels race! They were all laughing that Pappy's White Truck hotwheel won everytime!

Lex built a firepit in the backyard with the limestone left over from our house reno. We have so much of this stuff, not sure why it took us so long to do this! We love a good fire!

100th Day of School

Kindergarten is the BEST! They counted and made fruit loop necklaces, painted 100 fingerprints, decorated hats, etc. Kyler loved it!

Katelyn, Mercedes, & Madison headed to UIL Ready Writing competition! We have to wait until next week to get the results, but I can already tell Katelyn did awesome! She loves writing! Can't wait to hear the results!

And at the Wilson County Library, they have Kyler's art work displayed for the summer book mark contest! They made him a few and mailed them to him too! Katelyn also won, but I didn't make it up to the library to take a picture of the display.

Cowboy day at school today! Kinder has been learning about Cowboys this week, so they got to dress up today, play games and make trail mix. I was asked to contribute skittles for the trail mix....LOL...it must be a kinder version of trail mix :)
