Happy 12th Birthday Levi

Levi had a fantastic day yesterday! He turned TWELVE years old! How can that be? This past year has gone by way too fast for this momma!

Sixth grade has been so good for him though. He has really grown up a lot, taking on new responsibilities, learning how to play the trombone, persevering when things seem hard, and enjoying a little more independence too!

Levi, you have such a big heart... you love big, feel big, give big, and will do big things, I have no doubt! You have a love for science, technology, planes, cars, driving anything that moves, and learning how things work. I hope you find your way over the years and live a life that allows you to do what you love!

We love you to infinity and beyond! Happy Birthday, Levi!

We tried to surprise him with a hoverboard, but he is too observant and saw it on our front porch before we could bring it inside after it was delivered. He didn't tell us though, he was going to act surprised! LOL! He hasn't gone anywhere in the house without it since he opened it!

Otherwise, he got camo, clothes, and a water bottle for school. He's one happy kiddo!

Quiche for breakfast!

He had me in the kitchen all afternoon, but I wouldn't have it any other way. He was so sweet to recognize my hard work and gave me lots of thanks....

Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes & Green Beans

And Lemon Meringue Pie for dessert!

Cross Country

What a season!! These girls are so strong, determined, and self motivated!

They won every meet they went to, except one, the Islander Splash in Corpus against Boerne by just a few points. They were really hoping to get top 3 at the State Meet and worked their butts off to get there....

Feast Invitational - 1st as a Team
12th  Individually

McNeil Invitational - 1st as a Team
15th Individually

Islander Splash - 2nd Place Team

McNeil Invitational - 1st as a Team

There were many others too...Floresville, Karnes City, Poth Meet, etc!! They won them all!

Now time for District....
We had a family pot luck at the VFW for all the JH & HS teams, plus their families.

We decorated their lockers!!

The school cheered them on with cool media designs...

And they joined together as a team to pray...

They ran their best...

District Champions!! Katelyn placed 2nd in District. They scored a perfect score of 15 - top 5 runners in the district!

She has the best fan club...

Up next was Regionals at Corpus Christie A&M:

We had a surprise send off the morning before school, so the boys were able to come help. It was so fun to see all their faces as they drove past us hanging out the bus. We had signs and glow sticks galore!

1st place team in the Region
Katelyn - 5th place individually at Regionals (1st place Freshman in the region)

Getting prepped for the STATE Meet:

More cool media from Poth ISD

They had a team movie night at watched MacFarland...a cross country movie!

Team Breakfast the day before the meet.

The school had a big send off for the girls down bus alley. Pre-K thru 12th grade came out to the road to cheer them on as they drove off to Roundrock! The band played, the cheerleaders cheered, and there was fire trucks and policeman leading the way! It was so special!

Once they got there, they ran the course and enjoyed time together as a team.

We arrived the next day bright and early. The boys found the playground while we waited for the race to start!

Katelyn and the whole team ran their absolute hardest. But some days are not your day. They had a tough race and didn't finish the way the wanted to. Although, their times weren't too far off from earlier in the season, they were down enough to push them out from medaling.

They got 7th as a team.....in the STATE!! Which is still pretty amazing! They were disappointed though and are already scheming for next year and gearing up for track season too. They will be back, better and stronger!

Katelyn could barely stand after the race. She puked a few times (which she's never done before).
She truly gave it her all and we are so proud!

I missed a few people that came to watch, because it took Katelyn awhile to recover. We didn't take pictures like normal, but we are so thankful for these "aunts" - Cindy was there too, along with Mimi, Pops, Pappy, & Kyler (not pictured, but present)!

A few photos of articles from this season, I hope I didn't miss any....
