Random April Fun

JH Hawaiian Dance - 7th Grade Pre-Party at the Janysek's house

We got Ducks!!
Ryan Eckel's ducks hatched some babies and she was giving them away! Kyler has been eating duck eggs since he is sensitive to chicken eggs, so we decided if we've got chickens, why not get a few ducks too! They are growing so fast! Way faster than the baby chicks!

Of which we had 3 babies, naturally hatch from our hen! We realized she was sitting on her eggs so this time around, so we decided to just let nature do it's thing. And it worked! She had three little babies! And once that happened and got the ducks we thought it was time to get a few more to fill the new coop with...so we got 16 baby chicks to add to the mix!

They are loving the new coop! And Adalyn loved playing with all the babies!

And our other baby got a hair cut finally! Cookie's hair was getting so long but I wanted her mid section to grow out a bit more before we got her groomed so we could just even out the rest of her with her mid section (where her injuries were). Well, they evened it out alright and she looked like a totally different dog!! It took some getting used to, but we think we actually like it better short! She seems more girly now :)

Girls day to see Mama Mia at the Majestic! Lex got us tickets for Christmas and we were happy to finally get to go! I enjoyed hanging out with my favorite ladies! Time was a little crunched on either side, but we made it work and I'll cherish these memories!

The boys have pretty much taken over mowing around here. Levi does the front and the far back with the riding mower and Kyler does around the pool with the push mower.  They do a great job and I'm sure Lex is very thankful to pass the baton!

Lex has been quite the traveler this month. He started with a boys trip to the Masters in Augusta, GA. This group of guys have been putting their names into a lottery to get tickets for 10 years and they finally were drawn. They had a great time! Lex said it was like "Disney for Men". haha! He came back with a lot of swag, which the kids loved too!!

And just a cute pic of my two girls! This curly haired one has become a favorite around here for sure!

Cheer practices for next year have already begun. Here's the new team and Katelyn's Little Sister's, Bailey & Emily! Looking forward to another fun year!

Happy 11th Birthday, Kyler!

Happy 11th Birthday, Kyler Alexander Poth!

We were told to wake up at 5:30 am to get this party started! So we did! haha!
After he got tucked into bed, the rest of us went to work decorating and setting out his presents. I love that we all cherish this tradition. Katelyn especially went above and beyond helping to make his day special with extra decorations on his door!

He got a giant bean bag that opens up into a bed for sleepovers, some new Nintendo Switch controller, a console, and a sports game including tennis, golf, bowling, etc. (those are his favorites gifts for sure). He also got some Ted Dekker books, some, sunglasses, clothes, a speed rubix cube (from Katelyn), fireworks and fidgets (from Levi), a conductor stick, a new wireless mouse, and some other small things. He loved all of it!

We had bagels (homemade) and lox for breakfast and steak with corn and ice cream for dinner! Some of his all time favs! We are planning to do a pool party with his friends soon, but waiting for better weather!

Here are some things I want to remember about Kyler at this age...

1 - He loves gardening and definitely has a green thumb!

2. He is confident and cute in all that he does!

3. He's determined. He taught himself how to solve rubix cubes and now is racing his own times to get faster!

4. He's fun and loves games of all kinds.

5. He's smart and tries hard. Here is his GT class taking a "virtual" field trip to the Amazon fulfillment center to learn about robots. He loves his friends in GT and thrives in this creative environment!

6. He loves old things and legos. His friend Brody gave him this lego set of an old style camera and it makes me happy to know his friends know him so well too!

7. He get joy out of the small things in life. Even small sauce pans! :) He's been asking for this for months and couldn't wait to use it. He made himself some creamed mushrooms and loved them!

8. He loves his family, this sweet dog, and God! What a joy this kid is to be around! I love watching him grow and can't wait to see what all God has in store!

**Two last pictures as a 10 year old...

Honor Society

All three kiddos are in the National Honor Society...

Kyler's NEHS volunteered at the community egg hunt in Floresville and after, they decided they wanted to hold the snakes at one of the booths at the market. Not my cup of tea, but this kid loved it!

Levi was inducted in the NJHS as well! We couldn't be more proud!

And Katelyn also was inducted into the NHS. Her final induction!
The next week, she attended the Beta Club induction, which she was inducted into last year and is the current Sophomore Representative. We missed that night due to Levi's baseball game, but she had fun with her friends!

We are so proud of all the hard work these kiddos put into their school work. They may stress me out a bit when they wait till the last minute to get things done, but they seem to always pull through and do a great job! Proud of them!

Happy Easter

This year we spent Good Friday at Cindy's. We are so glad Drew is doing so well right now and that we were able to go hang out for the afternoon with them.

We also celebrated Kyler's birthday. Mimi gave him some antiques, which he treasurers!! This is a toy saxophone from the 1800's. She also gave him an antique wind up clock, that he was able to get working again! And the best part is they were passed down from several generations, so we have the history of each of the items he can cherish as well! His antique collection is growing! He also got an ice cream maker, so we've been able to make ice cream several times using A2 milk, which his tummy can tolerate much better! It's such a treat for all of us to enjoy!

And Drew got a few presents from us as a much belated Birthday for him too! Happy to get to give them to him in person! Can't believe he is 15!

Easter Morning, the kids enjoyed opening their Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny....oh wait, they now all know that's me! Funny story, but at lunch I made a comment about how I found him some chocolate that fits his current food sensitivity diet and caught myself too late (I had put the chocolate in his Easter Basket). Later that night, I decided to ask him if he knew why we were all acting strange during lunch and he acted like he wasn't sure, but then started getting a little more open to talking about it. I didn't want to spoil it for him, so I just waited and said do you know why were acting odd? And kept prodding and said I wasn't going to tell him, but if he had any guesses he could tell me. He eventually said because he knew I was the Easter Bunny!! haha! And then I decided to continue prodding to see if he knew about Santa and he eventually fessed up, that he's known I was Santa for the past few years! He's one good actor, I tell you what! We were all trying so hard to keep the magic alive and all along, he knew. He said he thought it was more fun to play along, than to let us know, he knew! He was also a little afraid he wouldn't get gifts from Santa anymore, if he said something.

Now that the cats out of the bag, it's pretty funny to look back at all his "acting" skills. He had us all fooled!

Easter @ Grace Bible is always special. I love that they set up photo spots for us to document each Easter together! Katelyn and I volunteered in the PreK room after service, so we pushed our lunch to later in the afternoon. We've enjoyed volunteering and even Levi has joined us a time or two as well!

Lex smoked a brisket. I made Mac & Cheese and Roasted Honey Carrots and ice cream. Lindsay brought a salad and a delicious goat cheese appetizer. And Pappy brought the pie! Delish lunch to celebrate our Risen Savior!

This year we only put money in the kids eggs. They each had a specific color they could pick up, so they all ended up with the same amount of money. It was super fun, I think this will become our new tradition! And of course we had to get in another round of casscarones too!
