Here we go.....42 degrees and early wake up call!

It was a cold one, these south Texas girls weren't used to that! Katelyn said she tried to run faster, but she couldn't feel her legs!! She ran great though, running a course PR of 12:18 and got 20th in the state!! We are so proud!

The team tied for 6th, but ended up 7th based on our 6th place runners score. They were disappointed in that, but they should be proud. The competition keeps getting harder!

What a great team! We are going to miss the seniors next year....Brooklyn, Rylee and Sadie have been a huge reason why Katelyn has loved running and XC so much. They've been her biggest fans and cheerleaders since she was in the 8th grade and they were "big high school freshman"!

Jasmin, Audrey and Keira came back from college to cheer them on too!! How special is this!!

Love our girl, she's got one more year of XC, I can't believe how fast it's going!

20th out of 1000s of girls in 3A across Texas!

Regionals - Corpus Christi

Community Send Off....there were more people there than I expected! Love our XC Family!

And they were off.....Katelyn beat Frankie from Luling!!

After the race, waiting for results....

FIRST PLACE!!!

And THIRD place individual!! Her best place at Regionals this far! She got 5th as a Freshman and 12th as a Sophomore.

We were all so excited for them!! They beat Luling, which we were not expecting to do! It was a great day!

They went to the beach to dip their toes in to celebrate!! (There were too many jelly fish to go any further, boo)

STATE BOUND!

District Cross Country

Levi ended up running in the District Cross Country meet after not practicing for about a month. He was having knee pain that the school trainer said was called "Osgood Schlatters Disease". Basically his bones are growing faster than his muscles, so they were being stretched and causing pain when he ran. After a month off though, he kept up his pace and finished 7th place at District, and the team got 1st! He was happy he pushed through the pain to get the participate!

After the awards, they jumped in the river....so fun!

A few action shots....and a smile after a hard, hot race!

Katelyn and the girls did fantastic too!! Katelyn was recovering from a cold and still got 2nd place in the District, and the team got 1st! At this point in the season  all the girls really started to peak, which was great timing! On to Regionals they went...

JH & HS XC Runners and their families joined together for a pre-district dinner at the VFW.
