FGP Day O' Fun

Yesterday FGP had our annual meeting & awards banquet. We started off at work at 8:30 and finished up a few things before they gave us our schedule for the day. It was all a surprise up until this point....at 10:00 we were scheduled to go bowling - the whole company packed up, split into teams and headed down to AVF lanes to bowl a few games together! From there we headed to Cesar's for lunch and a short talk about 2005 and our plans for 2006. From there we were instructed to head to the Palmetto Expo Center for yet another surprise. When we all arrived we walked into a room with 3 African drummers dancing around and making music. We were each given our own hand carved drum and sat in a semi-circle. No explanation was given at first, we all just joined in on the fun. The lady, all dressed in her traditional African attire, instructed us while we created a beat and chanted! By the end of the session we were all up dancing around with tambourines and laughing our heads off! The whole moral of the session was how as a team, if we lose one portion of that team, the rest of the team can't survive, so play off of each other and you can create beautiful music! What a day! We got off by 3:30 and had an awards banquet planned for 7:00 that night!

The banquet was held at Soby's (www.sobys.com). It's pretty much the happening spot on most Friday and Saturday nights in downtown Greenville. Well, we had reserved the apartment behind the restaurant for the evening. It felt like we were in a New York loft or on one of those HGTV shows - lets just say the place was well designed. It had a full kitchen, large dining room that sat 20, two bedrooms and a roof top deck! We were going in style last night! The food was excellent as well: shrimp and grits (a South Carolina thing), beef tenderloin, crab cakes, wrapped sausage, artichoke dip, steamed veggies, fruit and of course cheese and wine! Yummy! Anyways, we had a good time. Check out the website with pics of the apartment!

Pray for Allison...

She is currently in the process of taking THE BAR exam in California! I'm sure she would love all the prayers see can get! Good Luck girl, we know you'll do well!

But....if you need a little distraction...here is a fun game, you should all check it out!

GE PROM

Here's a pic of us last night at GE Prom! They had this huge party at the Embassy Suites for all of their salaried employees! Open bar, shrimp galore, a chocolate fountain, and dancing! We had a really good time! I wish I could have taken more pictures but for some reason my camera will only let me take one picture at a time these days - I need to figure out what's going on with it!

Manu's Biggest Fan

Manu Ginobili's biggest fan - GINOBILI POTH!

Isn't Gino so cute! Lex's mom and sister got Gino his very own Ginobili jersey. Now he can enjoy the games all decked out! (And I have to give major props to Lex for taking this photo at the exact time Manu Ginobili popped on the screen :o)

Bath Time

Ginobili hates bath time! The other night he was out in the rain and started digging under the fence, so when it was time for him to come in for the night he was covered in red mud! So this meant...bath time before bed time! I seriously think he hated us after his first bath, but boy does he smell good now!

As you can also tell, he is starting to really grow up quickly. His face is starting to get longer and more manly :o) Overall, he is really a pretty good dog. He has had a few accidents inside since the last time I posted, but for the most part he is pretty good about going outside! As for Porter, the dog next door, he and Ginobili are starting to become friends. Although this morning we heard a loud whimper from Ginobili - I think Porter got a little rough and pawed him harder than what he thought! Anyways, we are enjoying our new pup - he definitely keeps us busy and entertained!
