This past weekend, we headed across the country to Seattle for Matt & Megann's wedding! We had such a great time and loved that we had to the opportunity to see Seattle while we were there. There are a ton of pictures and more to possibly come - if we can get our computer up and running again soon! Enjoy!
This picture was taking at the Wedding Reception - they had it on the 76th floor of the Columbia Tower, which is the tallest building in Seattle! It was solid windows, so the view was amazing!
This is a great shot of the Space Needle. In comparison to the Columbia Tower, it's not that big! I was surprised and glad we didn't spend the money to go up in the needle!
The best view from the reception was in the Ladies Bathroom....Yes, this picture was taking in the stall! All of the guys were asking to come in and see the view, they apparently didn't get the same view from their bathroom! I think ladies rooms are always a little nicer!
For the Rehersal Dinner, we went to the Crab Pot on the Pier...we had a Seattle version of "Low Country Boil"! Good times!
We had the opportunity to tour around town quite a bit too. This is the first Starbucks! It was way too crowded for us to go in, but I heard that it is completely different than all the new Starbucks. I also heard that the coffee is better there than anywhere else in the country...but that was from a local...so she may have been a little prejudice!
Our hotel room actually had Starbucks coffee! We definitely took advantage - it was just as good as getting it at a real Starbucks.
On Friday, we went to SeaFair, which is a big fair that had Hydoplane races and a show by the Blue Angels. We missed the Hydroplane races, but LOVED the Blue Angels. Neither of us had seen them in person, so we were glad to have such a great view! I got several other great pictures, so maybe I'll post them up later once our computer gets fixed!

The Space Needle...around the base of the needle they have a lot of museums and a little amusement park!
On Thursday, we toured around quite a bit on our own. One of our favorite things was going to Pike Place Market. It's the famous spot where they bring in the fish and throw it around! Another highlight were all the fresh flowers! They had HUGE bouquets of flowers for unreasonably cheap prices. The bouquet above probably cost $15! Seriously! I wish we had a place like that around here!
This is one of the spots where they throw fish...we missed that part, but the overall experience was great!
We also took a tour of Underground Seattle - apparently back in the 1800's the streets of Seattle were actually one story below where they are today. They had a big fire that destroyed all of the buildings and when they rebuilt everything the city decided to bring the streets up a level, so today many of the buildings still use the "first floor", but it is more of a basement now! Interesting!
One of our other favorite parts of our trip was driving to Mt. Rainier. We wish we had more time to spend there hiking, but the view was amazing. This is a waterfall that we stopped at on our drive up to the National Park.
I wish it wasn't so cloudy, because you can barely see any of the actual Mountain. It soars way above the clouds! This picture does not do it justice. We luckily had a great view from the plane flying in - our plane was flying parallel to it, it was breath taking!
Congrats Matt & Megann - we are so happy for both of you! And thanks for giving us the opportunity to see Seattle!

Those are beautiful pictures! I think you're starting to follow your mom's talent.;)
Very cool pictures! Seattle looks like a good place to visit!
Yeah...the coffee at the original is very good!!! And it is very small inside. None of those cozy places to sit down...actually...no places to sit down at all. It almost has the look of an old general store inside. It was my favorite spot in Seattle. Looks like y'all had a good time!!!
Glad you got to go to Seattle -- next time take me with you!!
Super pics, Poth's! I think Seattle looks like a ton 'o' fun! You took great advantage of the whole trip with all these great sites to see too---love the pics from the wedding so high up! Great dress, Kristi---red or dark pink? Can't tell, but it is a winner!
Love, Mom Poth
Kristi, that dress is gorgeous!! Well, actually you look awesome in that dress!! :) Glad y'all had a good time. I hear Seattle is awesome, hopefully we'll get a chance to go up and see it for ourselves before too long!
