4D Ultrasound

This is the first of many new posts...so keep on scrolling.

On Thursday afternoon, we had an appointment for a 4D ultrasound. It was so nice to get to see our sweet girl again. We have only had two ultrasounds previous to this one (which is I think it's actually a good thing, no problems in the pregnancy so far :o)

Here are a few good shots that we got of her...looks like she has some cute cheeks, Lex's nose and a dimple in her chin! Guess we'll find out for sure in a few short months!

She's smiling in this one!

Sucking her thumb!

We can't wait to meet you!

The Nursery

After my trip to Texas, my parents and sister headed out to SC to help bring all of the gift back and put the nursery together. They were such a big help! I could not have done it all with out them (besides the fact that I am not supposed to breathe paint fumes - which was a great way to get out of some of hard work :o)

This is what we started with....

Here Cindy and Dad start the painting process....

After two days....the paint job is done! I LOVE IT! And the curtains Mom made are hung! Everything turned out so beautiful!!!

Wednesday night, Lex made it back from Taiwan/Singapore - I was soooo happy to have him home...a month is such a long time. Luckily I had family to keep me company towards the end. Thursday morning, we put Lex to work...the furniture came in and here is Lex and my Dad putting it together...

The furniture, quilt, lamp, curtains - ready to go and me @ 29 weeks! :o) We still have some work to do on the room (name plate, wall decor, etc) but it is coming along nicely so far! Baby Poth is already getting spoiled :o)

Cindy and I in front of the dresser!

Baby Poth's closet - look at all those clothes already! She is going to be dressed in style, at least for the first year :o)

My Aunt, Sandy gave us the perfect cross for her room too. We hung it right at the entrance of her room.

Mom with her quilt and curtains - thank you again for working so hard on them, they turned out beautiful and perfect!

29 Weeks and counting...

Friends Shower - Saturday, May 23rd

This past weekend I had the chance to head back to Texas for a couple of baby showers. I am so glad I was able to make it back home to see all of our great friends and family. We are so blessed to have so many people welcoming our new baby girl into the world! Here are a few pictures of the Friends Shower from Saturday...

A&M - Jumper w/ matching bow! Adorable! Thanks Jennie!

Laura & Britney

The theme of the shower was "A Star is Born" - very hollywood, hot pink and black with star sunglassess. I can't wait to take a picture of our little girl wearing these cute glasses! :o)

As most of you know, the name of the baby is being kept a secret until she arrives. Well, one of the games we played was "guess the name". Everyone had to chose a name and seal it in an envelope. Whoever guesses the name will be the first person to get a call to welcome her into the world! As you can see in this picture, Cindy THINKS she knows the name...guess she'll have to wait a few more months to know for sure!
Britney & I played volleyball together in HS - it was so great to see her again! It's been way too long!
Toni, Pamela, Jennie and I

Betsy and I
The "Craft Table" - haha, remember it's a Hollywood theme!
Matt & Janet with their 2 1/2 month old baby girl, Mackenzie! How cute!

The wonderful hostesses - Allison, Emily, Cindy & unofficially my Mom! Thank you all so much for such a wonderful party. We are so thankful for everything!!

Family Shower - Sunday, May 24th

On Sunday Valarie, my sister-in-law hosted a Family shower at her house along with several of my cousins and sister! Again, we were so thankful for everything everyone did and can't wait to use all the wonderful things we got once our sweet baby girl gets here in a few months!

Here I am with all the hostesses: Kim, Mylynka, Valarie, Cindy & Aimee!

Me with my Granny (Baby Poth's Great Granny)

Sandra made us several beautiful things for our sweet little girl. One of our favorites is the wreathe! We are hoping to be able to put it on the hospital door with Baby Poth arrives! So cute!

My cousin, Mylynka make the cake - the shower was an "Ice Cream and Pickles" theme, so she recreated the cute invitations they sent out! Love it!
Here are Cindy and I with my brother's family - the crazy Kilgore's! haha!!

Cindy and I with our nieces - Channing & Taylor (soon to be cousins of Baby Poth)

Chowing down on all the yummy goods! To go along with the theme, they also had an ice cream sundae bar - wow, I ate way too much!

My Aunt Patty had an adorable blanket made for us...one side represented A&M - where Lex and I along with Cindy & Lindsay went to school....

The other side was for UT for Uncle Matt :o) This will be the side we use to lay on the grass during picnics...haha!

My cousin, Aimee, made this adorable diaper cake too! How cute is that!

I had such a great time and can't wait for each of you to meet _________! You thought I was going to tell you the name didn't you :o)

Great Week...

My Mom and I had a great week...I was sad to see her go today, but at least I will heading out to Texas on Friday - so that's only a few more days to go! Here are a few fun things we did this week....

We got our first baby present in the mail!! Thank you Katie & Leonard! It's the Baby Einstein Activity Jumper - we were so excited, we went ahead and put it together! Then I realized that we can't actually use it until Baby Poth reaches around 4 months - guess we'll have to find a good spot for it until December :o)

Mom spent all week making the curtains and a quilt for Baby Poth! They turned out GREAT, but I am going to wait to post pictures until we get the room painted and the furniture in, to give you a better idea of the final product! I LOVE them though! And just so you know, we did end up deciding on the light green walls with the pink and brown curtains! SO CUTE!

Friday @ Work - we celebrated our manager, Eddie's, 40th Bday! We decked out his office and the whole (well most) of us wore all black! Eddie - of course didn't, b/c it was a surprise!

On Saturyday we went shopping for all kinds of things. We found a store in the mall that does custom T-shirts, etc....well, we thought this was quite appropriate for us preggo's out there....

About a month ago, I came to work with two different shoes on - one brown and one black!!! I actually asked Lex if they matched, but he didn't respond and we started talking about something else, so I forgot...until I got to work and looked down!! haha! Well...another girl at work, Marisa (this is for you), is 9 weeks pregant and did the SAME thing on Thursday! She can't blame it on her belly yet, but it's definitely the pregancy curse! :o)

Here I am @ 27 Weeks

Here are a few facts about Baby Poth at 27 weeks:

Baby's lungs and immune system are maturing this week as baby prepares for her grand entrance. If she were born today she would have an 85 percent chance of surviving as her lungs are capable of breathing air (with medical assistance, of course). Other exciting developments:

Baby's done a lot of growing over the past few months. Her length has more than doubled in the past 15 weeks! And that's not the only thing growing—baby's brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace. Her brain waves are now firing away just like those of a newborn baby.

Your baby now weighs in at approximately 14½ inches and just over 2 pounds, or about the size of that roast you made last time your in-laws were in town.

Mom's Visit

Yesterday my Mom made it in for a week long visit! It was perfect because we got to have a Mother's Day Dinner downtown!

Here we are at Falls Park on Sunday afternoon! I'm now 26 weeks pregnant! Time is flying!

For dinner we went to Smoke on the Water, which is a "Saucy Southern Tavern" serving SC BBQ! I had never been and we both really liked it!

Mom wanted to take a picture of the harmonica player for Uncle Bubbie... They were actually pretty good!

For desert, I had made an apple pie. It was my first and it turned out pretty good! I even made the crust from scratch!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

I've changed my mind....

So I am getting very close to starting to decorate the nursery and at the last minute have decided to change the decor completely. Our furniture should be coming in within the next week or two and I thought I loved the bedding we picked out at Babies R Us. Well, today I headed out to Hobby Lobby to look at fabric for curtains (that Cindy wants to make for us) and for a quilt (that my Mom wants to make for us)! I fell in love with some curtain fabric that would not go with the bedding at all. It's light pink and is gathered throughout (hard to explain). So then I found this fabric that would go perfectly with the curtains. PLUS, I found the neatest lamp shade that I can add the exact same fabric to match perfectly. Here's the quilt and lamp shade fabric....

The only decision now is what color to paint the walls. I am thinking pink would be a little too much with pink curtains, so maybe we could add in some hints of light green to the quilt and lamp shade and paint the walls light green...Any other ideas??? I need some help on this one!

In other exciting news...My Mom is coming in town to spend the week with me tomorrow! I am so excited! Happy Mother's Day to all you new Mom's out there too!!

Megan & Blake's Wedding

This weekend I went to a wedding for a couple that I work with, Megan & Blake! It was so much fun! They actually met at FGP, so it was so much fun to see them get hitched! I didn't take any pictures myself, so these are just a few that were passed around the office!

Congrats Coleman's!

Ginobili is missing his Daddy...

Every time Ginobili here's anything resembling a truck driving down the street or senses movement in the garage, he hops up and runs to the garage door. Poor dog....he is wondering where his Daddy is! Too cute!

25 Weeks

Lex left for Taiwan on Thursday and will be there for about a month! He made it safely and is currently trying to recover from jet lag! So I am going to do my best to keep up with the weekly belly pics! Good thing my camera has a timer option!

Here are a few updates on our little girls progress:

Get ready for pat-a-cake! Baby's hands are now fully developed and he spends most of his awake time groping around in the darkness of your uterus. Brain and nerve endings are developed enough now so that your baby can feel the sensation of touch. That doesn't mean he can feel it when his father pokes your stomach, however, so tell him to knock it off. Other highlights include:

Your baby's arms and legs have grown to almost the proportions they will be at birth, which is still sort of short. So don't be alarmed when your newborn's arms barely clear his waist. Baby's nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, clear out (like he's taken a super-dose of Sudafed) and he can practice breathing through the nose. The structures of your baby's spine are now made up of 150 joints, 33 rings and some 1,000 ligaments. Can you believe you're growing something that complicated inside of you?

The capillaries, the teeniest blood vessels, are now forming in your baby's body, giving his formerly translucent skin a pink glow. The blood vessels in the lungs also develop this week. You'll see how well that worked out when your baby gives those lungs a workout while you're on line at the bank in a few months.

Your baby weighs about a pound and a half and is about 13½ inches long—roughly the length of one of those recorders you played in elementary school music class. Who's up for a round of "Hot Cross Buns?"
