I've changed my mind....

So I am getting very close to starting to decorate the nursery and at the last minute have decided to change the decor completely. Our furniture should be coming in within the next week or two and I thought I loved the bedding we picked out at Babies R Us. Well, today I headed out to Hobby Lobby to look at fabric for curtains (that Cindy wants to make for us) and for a quilt (that my Mom wants to make for us)! I fell in love with some curtain fabric that would not go with the bedding at all. It's light pink and is gathered throughout (hard to explain). So then I found this fabric that would go perfectly with the curtains. PLUS, I found the neatest lamp shade that I can add the exact same fabric to match perfectly. Here's the quilt and lamp shade fabric....

The only decision now is what color to paint the walls. I am thinking pink would be a little too much with pink curtains, so maybe we could add in some hints of light green to the quilt and lamp shade and paint the walls light green...Any other ideas??? I need some help on this one!

In other exciting news...My Mom is coming in town to spend the week with me tomorrow! I am so excited! Happy Mother's Day to all you new Mom's out there too!!

Hey, Kristi, it is ALWAYS a woman's perogative to change her mind, right?? What a great thing to find what you like before the rest is done!! You asked for ideas...what if you did an 'eggshell' or light, light beige/cream/ivory (I am trying to say 'neutral') color on 3 of the walls and then did an 'accent' wall on the 4th, whether it is pink or green? The window wall would be one of the non-color walls because of Cindy's curtains as would the wall where the crib would be because of the quilt, then you have your color wall but it doesn't take over the fabrics! Just my thoughts! I am so glad you Mom is headed in! What a great time you will have doing things together! Love, Mom Poth

Hi there! If Gabriel had been a girl his room was going to be green walls with pink and chocolate. :) Good choice.

And thanks for the happy mother's day. :)

That is beautiful fabric. It's so neat that you will get to have custom bedding. Good choice! Green would look nice. I agree with Sandra. An accent wall would be really cute. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law are using pink & brown for their new babies nursery & they painted one wall with chocolate & pale pink vertical stripes. It is REALLY cute! I wish we didn't live so far away because I think painting the nursery was the funnest part about waiting for both Isabella & Mackenzie. This time we're leaving it so I feel like I missed out.:(

My Neice's nursery is bright pink and black paisley and it turned out really cute... I think that the walls would be cute pink but maybe a light pink so that its not "too much". Either way thought it would be very cute!

Good luck! Designing the nursery was so much fun!
