37 Weeks & Salsa :)

Saturday marked my 37th week...as of today we have 19 days left. But...we went to the doctor on Friday and they have told me that they anticipate Baby Poth to come before that...but the more I tell people that the more I hear "don't get excited" she may wait until 41 weeks, so I am trying not to get too excited yet! Who knows, it could be tomorrow or it could be into August 20th!! Waiting is the hardest part at this point, we are very ready and can't wait to meet our little girl!

In the meantime though, we are keeping busy "nesting"...cleaning house, freezing meals, etc! Here is my 37 week picture!

This weekend, Lex made some fresh salsa from the tomatoes and peppers in the garden! It is fabulous! We decided to can it this time around and are so excited to be able to save a few jars worth for later in the year! It's hard to eat a stock pot of salsa before it goes bad...which we have tried to do before :o) Now we can savor it and enjoy it year round!

Captain Suburbia

Lex and his truck....

poor guy...it was a tough decision, but we sold Lex's truck on Monday night to upgrade to a true family car...a suburban! We went with pretty much the biggest thing you can get! It can still pull everything Lex wants to pull, but it can also hold all the new baby stuff, plus Ginobili and for our trips to Texas...christmas presents, etc! We are super excited and think it is exactly what we needed..plus some nice extras!

It's the exact same year as Lex's old truck and color!

Some nice upgrades..leather and a DVD system with wireless headphones! I can't wait to take our next long trip!

36 Weeks

So today marks the final stretch (I have made it to the last box on the timeline above - YEA!)...I am officially full term, we are just waiting on this sweet baby girl to put on enough weight to enter this world! Today we spent the whole day in a child preparation class, it was actually really good. We learned a lot about labor & delivery and even got a lesson on massages! Basically the overall theme was that from here on out, I am Queen...and I am going to love it :o) haha!

This week we also finished the final touches on the nursery. I was planning to put her name over her crib in wooden letters, but decided to order it in vinyl lettering instead. We have quotes throughout our office at work that we ordered online, which is what gave me the idea. I also got the same font letters to go over her windows that say "Thank Heaven for Little Girls". Instead of actually putting them straight on the wall, I wanted the option to move them later so we painted a pink large wooden oval for her name and a the same in a rectagle for over the window. I love how it turned out. I wish I could show you her name...but you know I can't ;o) Here's a taste for you!

Work Shower

On Tuesday night, my staffing group through us a baby shower at the Cazbah in downtown Greenville. It's a Tapas Restaurant and we had the whole upstairs to ourselves. We are so thankful to have such a great group of friends at work. We really enjoyed it and are very thankful for all the wonderful baby clothes and items we got! Here are a few pics...

The cake was so tasty!

Garden

We just realized that we hadn't posted any updated pictures of our garden this year. We planted all kinds of different tomatoes, peppers and one cucumber plant. We have never tried to grow cucumbers before and apparently, they do great in our soil. We can't keep up! We have enjoyed a lot of tomato and cucumber salad though, that's for sure! Overall, the crop isn't as good as years before, but we are getting plenty of fresh veggies. Just not as many to give away this year! Lex did make some excellent salsa yesterday with the fresh tomatoes - probably the best he has ever made!

This is the cucumber plant! It's huge!

Here is one of the tomato plants, we just picked all the red ones, but there are a few green ones if you look really hard.

Here is Lex with the cucumber pickings of the day. Yes - I said, the day! If anyone has any great recipes for cucumbers - please pass them along! Or if you want some, just let me know!

This past Saturday marked my 35th week as well. I go in for my 36 week doctor appointment on Friday and then from there on out I will start my weekly visits. I can't believe how close we are, yet it seems so far away too. This weekend we started a big part of the nesting phase. We cleaned the carpets, washed all the baby clothes, blankets, etc...almost finished her name plate to hang over her bed (sorry, no pictures of that until she arrives :o), I packed our hospital bag, and we went to look at a Suburban. We are seriously thinking about trading in Lex's truck for a Suburban. It only makes sense with a baby, a dog and all the stuff that goes with them to have a bigger car. Especially for our trips back to Texas! Ginobili loves the ranch too much for us to leave him home at Christmas :o)

Happy Fourth of July

We had a great long weekend! We both had Friday off of work, so we took Ginobili out to the lake and spent the day! Picnic lunch, floating in the water, a little fishing and of course soaking up the sun. One of the best parts of the day was watching Gino swim...yes - he finally was swimming on his own! It has taken several trips to the lake and ocean to get him used to the idea. I still can't say he really LOVES it...but he would rather swim out to play with us than hang out on the shore by himself! I took a video of it, but for some reason can't get it to upload at the moment, if I can make it work, I'll add it later :o)

On Saturday, we headed to our friends Mitch & Tamra's for a cookout. They set off their own fireworks each year, so it was a lot of fun to participate rather just watch the show. There was was little mishap where one of the fireworks shot straight down the drive way, past their two little girls and into their open garage in between their two cars....YIKES! After that we were all a little more careful, but overall a great show, a lot of fun and great food! Happy Forth everyone!

Red (me), White & Blue (Lex) - aren't we cute...haha! :o)

These are some shots of the fireworks Mitch & Lex set off! For all you Texans...it is legal to set off fireworks pretty much anywhere you want in SC! Crazy huh!

This pictures is quite fuzzy...but we had to take a weekly pic...I am now 34 weeks! Two more weeks until I am offically full-term. Although, I really hope I make it all the way to 40 weeks, at least that is what I am saying right now :o)
