We traveled to Texas over the holidays and we were gone for almost two weeks. She traveled fairly well for a 4.5 month old, but she wasn't her usual easy going self. She definitely learned how to protest her car seat and had a hard time adjusting to naps not in her own crib . But overall, we all loved being able to see our family and friends for the holidays.
We got in late Friday night and as soon as we laid her down in her crib, she starting smiling (at 1:00 AM)!! By Saturday morning Katelyn was back to her old self. She loves the comfort of her own bed and familiar surroundings. So with that said, we have had some new fun things happening just before her 5 month bday...she started rolling over again (she had no interest for a little while), we believe she has two teeth starting to make there appearance (which is cause for a little discomfort and explains the excessive drooling lately)...and she stayed awake for a record time this morning of 2 hours and 15 minutes! WOW! And the one thing I have been dreading and putting off is her swaddle...she is now officially broken of the swaddle and it wasn't a big deal at all. She was completely ready for it, I just think I wasn't!
Currently she loves playing in her bouncer, punching the buttons on her farm toy, laughing at her facebook, reading her fairy tales book, cuddling with her new baby dolls, putting anything and everything in her mouth, sitting in our laps and laughing at Ginobili! Lex and I really think she has become a little ham...if you pull out a camera and say her name she just starts smiling away! We have trained her well :o)
Other exciting news, I am planning to start her on solid foods ASAP! Basically I just need to find time to go to the grocery store! We are very excited about this new stage as well. We chose to wait until after Christmas so that we weren't having to deal with too many new things at once. I can tell she is very ready though and can't wait to see what her reaction is to her first bite of real food! I'm sure we'll keep you updated!

That's my stinkin' cute niece...the ham!! Love that big ole smile!
She is just the most precious baby in the world...so far that is...(I expect Drew will be right up there with Katelyn)
She is such a joy and she makes me smile every time I see her picture. She is on my screensaver, so I smile a lot.
It is so much fun to see all the new things she is learning to do. Please capture some pictures of her rolling over. I love being a G-ma.
