Halloween Video

Happy Halloween (Eve)

Our neighborhood celebrated Halloween tonight (Halloween Eve), I guess because tomorrow night is a school night! We had a blast though. I didn't know what to expect this year, but Katelyn really got into going up to the different houses and taking candy. She especially enjoyed signing Thank You to everyone after they gave her candy, it was adorable! Here are a few of the many pictures we took.

Emery & Logan trick or treating at Katelyn's house.

Megann & Andy came over for the afternoon and we had to take advantage of the pumpkin patch pics of the two of them! He is getting so big and adorable! Andy is the cute little horse in the pics above too!

My Mom's cousin, Gail, sent Katelyn this adorable beaded outfit when she was just born, so we thought we would dress her up it in today too as a belly dancer!! I think she really loved it...uh oh :o)

On Friday, we had our weekly playdate with Katelyn's friends, but decided to make it a costume party! The costumes only stayed on long enough for a pic though, but aren't they cute!
Friday afternoon, we headed to Katelyn's school for their Fall Festival. We didn't take too many pics, but here is one with Katelyn getting her very first face painting.

Happy Halloween (a day early)!

Vegas - 30's Style

This past weekend I headed to Vegas to meet up with my Phi Beta Chi girls from college for a Reunion/30th Bday Celebration! We have talked about a reunion for years, but we finally made it happen. We missed a few of our close friends though and hope they can make it to the next reunion. I realized when we got there that I hadn't seen Michele since Lex and I's wedding - 5.5 years ago!! Crazy! We all just picked up where we left off and had a blast!

Our main activity was eating....Brooke picked out 4 great restaurants for us to eat at and they were all fabulous!!

One night we went to the "Foundation Club" on the top floor of Mandalay Bay. It was members only, so we felt special and the view was also fabulous!

Brooke's camera took some amazing pictures...

Here I am enjoying a glass of "free" wine from the hotel casino. We stayed at the Palazzo which is connected to the Venetian so it was in a great location. The rooms were great too, loved the sectional, the 3 flat screens and remote control curtains!
Bellagio Fountains

Aureole Restaurant at Mandalay Bay - Chef Charlie Palmer with the Wine Angels! fancy :o)

We ate brunch at Bouchan in the Venetian and they surprised us with some fancy brownies with banana ice cream for our 30th Bday's! How cute are we, haha!

I had so much fun and miss my girls a lot! Can't wait until the next trip!

Niven's Apple Farm/Pumpkin Patch

Two weekends ago we went to Niven's Apple Farm/Pumpkin Patch (sorry for the delayed pics :) We normally go to Sky Top Orchard, which I love because it's in the mountains of NC, so it's the perfect time of year to go and check out the beautiful Fall leaves. This year we haven't made it up there, so Niven's had to do! It was a lot of fun though, even though we didn't actually pick apples, we just bought the ones already bagged up for us :o) Katelyn loved just exploring the farm though and playing with all the animals and outdoor toys! Here are a few pics of our little punkin' :o)

Saturday Errands :)

Just a normal Saturday morning...grocery shopping, tea parties, gardening, brushing our teeth, recycling, landing planes, making planes/cars/buildings, snack time...back for climbing & sliding down a tree trunk & a tongue, planting flowers, collecting the eggs, milking the cow....ya know, a normal Saturday morning...at the Gville Children's Museum that is!

We had just as much fun at Katelyn did!
Alice in Wonderland, where we had our first tea party!
This scarecrow was second in line behind Mikey (see previous post)...she would have taken him with her if she could!
Katelyn loves brushing her teeth, so she really got a kick out of this huge toothbrush and set of teeth!
Logan & Emery were there too, it's just hard to catch a picture of all three of them at the same time. They seem to all go in different directions, imagine that!
I tried very hard to keep the fake food out of her mouth, but she just can't resist a good banana! Yum!

Teaching her young :o)
Hard at work! There were so many neat things to play with, we can't wait to go back!

First Crush & Bouncing Babies

Today may have been our last day at one of our favorite Library Classes, Bouncing Babies. I am starting to work on Thursdays too as of next week, so 3 days a week now. Anyways, we love this class and Katelyn has really become attached to Mikey the puppet they use to sing songs with. (Luckily our Wednesday class uses Mikey too, so he's not out of the picture quite yet!) If anyone has ever seen this puppet in a store, let me know, we may need to get her one for Christmas! She LOVES this puppet!
Kisses for Mikey!

Here are a couple of video's to document her (possible) last class! She is the one with Mikey!! :o) Hugs for Mikey...

Clapping!

Me-Maw Texas Visit

It has taken me awhile to post this, but I wanted to be sure to remember this time for our family so I am including it on our blog in hopes that one day I will get our blog made into a book. On September 24th, my grandmother (my Mom's Mom), Me-Maw, passed away. She was 97 years old and had a wonderful blessed life. We all miss her dearly, but know she is now in a better place. Here is a picture collage that we made and had displayed at her visitation and funeral.
Thank you to everyone that sent thoughts, prayers, flowers, food, etc. to our family. We really appreciate it!

Although it was an unexpected and sad trip. We were thankful to be able to spend some extra time with my side of the family, expecially on my 30th Birthday! Yes...I am 30 now..YIKES! Here are a few pictures of our trip...Drew was so relaxed on his first swinging experience, he almost fell asleep, too cute!

Pops & Drew chiliing!

The kiddo's trying to steal each others paci's (cup-key, as Katelyn says) after they woke up from a nap.

Awww...cousin love!

Auntie Kisses

My Mom is now officially "Mimi"! I was showing Katelyn pictures of Me-Maw and she was trying to repeat it back, but it came out Mimi, so I went up to my Mom (at the time, Katelyn's Grandma) and told her that if she wanted Katelyn to start saying her name, she should reconsider the name, Mimi. Just at that time, Katelyn looked up at her and said, clear as day...Mimi! She couldn't resist, but love it and is now loving her new name! So here is Katelyn picking Mimi's nose...not really, but it sure looks like it! :o)

Drewski....love this pic! He's becoming such a big boy and looks just like his Mama now!!

Piano Lessons, take II...Katelyn loves music. I know all kids do, but since she is my only kiddo I don't have much to compare her to, so to me, she really has a knack for music...maybe she'll end up being a dancer or singer (if that's the case, it can't be hermeditary...haha (inside joke)!!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again soon. And I am sorry I wasn't able to see any friends during our trip to Dallas, but I am sure you understand!

We miss you Me-Maw!
