Moving on Up!

Yesterday was Katelyn's last day in her Pre-Toddler class at school. On Monday she moves up to the 2 year old class! She's growing up so fast. We love her school and love watching her grow and learn with her wonderful teachers and friends. This pic was taken a month or so ago of her Pre-Toddler class. What cute little kiddos!

It's a.....

Today marked 20 weeks - halfway officially! Wow, November will be here before we know it! We had our BIG ultrasound today and my gut feeling was RIGHT...

It's a BOY!!!!!

Here are a few profile shots of our new little baby boy! We have a CD of others, but these are the best of them! (we refrained from adding the "boy" shot for future embarrassment)

This one is neat b/c his mouth is open! He was pretty active the whole time and loved to cuddle up with his arm around his head. Everything looked great....they checked all of the organs, did a lot of measurements and checked on some possible deformities - everything looked perfect! Whew, what a relief! We are so excited to finalize a name and start to prepare for our new bundle of boy/joy! :)

The countdown is on....

Two more days until we find out what little Baby Poth Dos is! woo hoo! I have been doubting my gut feeling lately of carrying a little boy around. That's been my gut feeling for a while now, but the more I talk about it, the more I convince myself otherwise. I guess time will tell!

I have been feeling the baby move now for a few weeks, which is much earlier than I did with Katiepoo. I remember I was 19 weeks and 1 day when I felt her move officially - probably sooner than that, but it's so hard to tell when you've never had a little person in your belly before. This time around, I started feeling kicks officially around 17 weeks, again probably a little sooner even, but definitely solid "kicking" and movements by 17 weeks. Now it is pretty consistent, you can even feel it from the outside with your hand. It makes everything so much more real when that starts happening. You can just imagine the little baby squirming around in there, so much fun!

We are still pretty clueless on names. I have a 2 boys names I like pretty good, one that I have liked for a long time, so we'll see if we go that route or another. Girls are another story, so if you have any great resources for great girl names -please pass along. Or good suggestions :)

Well, check back for the completed countdown on Tuesday....with belly pics and baby pics as well! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh......I don't know if I can wait that long.....ahhhhhh!

Camera Catchup

I have been waiting for a few weeks now to get my camera charger in the mail. I lost mine, which is very unusual for me....I am sure it will turn up now that we bought another one. Anyways, that is why we have been a little slack on updates lately - we've had lots of fun - like Father's Day, a lake day, water park playing, cookouts, etc...but no camera to record all the fun. I played a little catch up today with my camera and took several new pics of my little Katiepoo...

Good Morning Sunshine :)

Yes - she still loves jumping in this thing! :)

This morning, we painted our finger nails and then painted & colored a little too!

Father's Day 2011

This past weekend, we celebrated Father's Day! Katelyn is one lucky kiddo...she has a great Daddy-O that loves her very much!
I thought this card was very appropriate, considering Katelyn has been calling him Daddy-O lately, too cute. He now has his very own cereal called Daddy-O with his pic on the front, he's famous! Read the small print if you can enlarge it, it's pretty cute!
One thing Katelyn was able to help with was to paint him a picture frame. We went to the Glazing Pot with our playgroup friends and we all had the kids paint something for their Daddy's for Father's Day. I did the writing, but she did paint quite a bit of the background color and of course her hand print. Here are a few pics of her hard at work.

We also hit up breakfast, church and the Simpsonville Water Park to help celebrate. We had a great day but do wish could have spent it with our Father's too.

Summer Fun!!

This summer has started off pretty good and we have lots of fun plans for the next few months too! I can't wait, yet it seems like we have sooo much to do to get ready for the new little bundle of joy. Most of that will probably have to wait until August, for now our plan is to just enjoy the summer! Anyways, here are a few recent pictures that I haven't added to the blog yet, it's a hodge podge, so enjoy!
Sandra & Fred took a lot of great pictures on our beach trip, I stole these from their blog - so thank you! One afternoon we took a trip out to Broadway at the Beach and the highlight of the trip was feeding the ducks and fish! Those things were hungry and Katelyn got a huge kick out of it! They even were eating out of her hand (see below).
Our garden is getting sooo close to being ready to pick. Lex and Katelyn head out every evening after dinner to check on it and the other night K picked a green tomato & small cucumber and actually ate them both! She is a tomato lover, that is for sure. Green, red, she could care less :) If she thinks the green tastes good, she's in a real treat in a few weeks!
Last weekend we headed downtown for the Saturday Morning Farmers Market and Touch A Truck event. We ended up seeing at least half of our playgroup friends & Megann and Andy! We got some pretty good peaches at the market and some fresh bread (which Lex and I both ate the whole loaf w/in 24 hours...loving this pregnancy eating thing...side note - we hit up pizza AND krispy kreme for dinner tonight - i think that was my first HOT krispy kreme experience - again, loving this pregnancy craving experience :)
So happy!
Penske Truck w/Logan & Clatyon
Driving the fire truck!
I had to include this one too...we have been praying with Katelyn at night and before meals for a long time now, but I don't think I've gotten a good picture of it. She loves to pray for her grandparents the most and is very enthusiastic about the AMEN!! So sweet! Many months ago, her teachers at school asked me if we prayed with her at home, because in the middle of the day, one day she was sitting by herself with her eyes closed and hands clasped like this talking to herself, when they asked her what she was doing - she said praying! I'm a proud Mommy!
More summer fun to come!

Birdies @ the Beach

Too cute not to share! She is a bird girl, that is for sure!

Actual Memorial Day

We headed back from Myrtle Beach really early on Monday to beat the traffic, so we all had time to nap in the afternoon and then have a nice little cookout in the backyard. Katelyn swam, Lex cooked & Sandra and Fred helped him get everything ready. After we ate, the hot air balloons from Freedom Weekend Aloft flew by our backyard. The evening before (when we were still at the beach) the wind was just perfect and directed the hot air balloons right into our neighborhood park. They ended up giving some of the older kids short rides. How cool is that! We missed out on that night, but at least we were able to watch them go by from the convenience of our own back porch. How pretty!

16 Weeks

I can't believe I am 16 weeks already! The pic above does not do my belly justice, I am definitely showing plenty and pretty much in maternity clothes/bella band already!

Time is starting to fly by! I will admit that from about 8-14 weeks, time was moving by way too slowly. I was pretty exhausted all the time and nauseous a lot, especially after eating and even more if the food had the slightest bit of garlic or onions. I still have no desire to eat most foods with garlic or onions, especially Mexican, makes me kinda sick just thinking about it. Overall though, I am feeling so much better.

I keep going back and forth as to what I think we are having. At first I thought it was a boy because I didn't get any symptoms until much later than I did with Katelyn. Then they came on strong, so I thought it must be a girl because they seemed to be the same type of symptoms as before. The strange thing is that as I am looking at baby names, the only names that stand out to me are boy names.

I went to my 16 week appointment this morning and scheduled the 20 week for June 28th - so that's the big day we'll be counting down too. Once we find out boy/girl - I am going to have to be in full force looking for Katelyn a new bed, nursery decorations, etc. etc! I can't wait!

Currently the baby is the size of an avocado and the heartbeat was around 140.

Memorial Day Weekend at the Beach

This past weekend The Poth's came to visit and we decided to take them to Myrtle Beach for Memorial Day. We rented a little house on North Myrtle Beach that was just perfect! It had a great deck and of course was right on the beach. That is the way to go with a little one, let me tell ya! We had a great time soaking up some sun, eating, shopping, and just relaxing.

My new camera takes much better pictures at night than my old one. Here is the little strip that our house was located on. Lex and I were able to go on walks in the evenings after Katelyn went to sleep, thanks to the grandparents :)

Katelyn enjoying the sand toys! We brought quite a few toys to play with, but the house we stayed in had a ton. She wasn't too into digging in the sand (like her mamma and dadda), but loved running around in the water, chasing the birds, and swimming in the tidal pool!

Just in case anyone was wondering where Katelyn gets her many looks from.....check out Lex's expression here. She takes after her Daddy that is for sure!

Grammy & Katelyn hanging out on the steps at the house after dinner.

There was a huge public fishing pier a few houses down from us. One night we walked out (for $1.50/person...haha) to check out the fisherman. No one seemed to be catching much but we were highly impressed with the pier itself.

Not the best picture ever, but I hardly ever remember to take pictures with just Katelyn and I - so here ya go.

We had just gotten to the beach, so it took Katiepoo a little while to get used to the water. Once she did though, she was off!

Fred, Sandra & Katelyn after dinner at a wonderful seafood restaurant in Calabash, NC - about 10 minutes north of where we were staying. Yum!

The set up! We had so much fun & can't wait for another trip to the beach! It finally feels like summer has begun! YEAH!
