Jennie's Wedding & The River Walk

The initial reason we headed to Texas was for Lex's good friend, Jennie's wedding. It all just worked out perfectly to squeeze in a visit with my family & Lex's family in the same week. Especially with a baby on the way now, it will be harder to travel in the months to come!

The last weekend we were in Texas, we asked my parents to keep Katelyn for us, in hopes of one last hooray before our little man arrives. It was great! We stayed at the Palacico del Rio on the River Walk and had some time to hang out with several other couples that had come in for the wedding, relax by the pool, eat out (with no distractions), tour the riverwalk, shop, etc. THANK YOU for coming in town JUST to give us this one weekend of freedom, we really appreciate it :)

Here we are before the wedding, I didn't take my camera to the wedding, so this is all you get :) It was beautiful & a ton of fun! I just wish I could have joined in on the festivities a little more, if you know what I mean :)

Visit to Pleasanton

We also were able to spend some time in Pleasanton during our Texas trip & really enjoyed getting some good quality time in. We played at the ranch, although it was really hot, so we didn't get to spend nearly as much time there as we would have liked to. We also took a trip down to the coast to eat at King's Inn, a GREAT seafood restaurant that I have heard about for the past 6-7 years & finally had the time to go! It meant a lot to be able to finally get a chance to taste the great food I've the Poth's have been enjoying for the past 40 years, yum! Can't get much fresher than that. Did some shopping & went to visit Nanny & Mammaw.

Grammy & Katelyn made muffins one morning, complete with a chef hat, apron & matching hot pads! Katelyn thought she was hot stuff, thanks Grammy! What a fun tradition this will be over the years!

We had to take a pic to show how Katelyn's tree is growing at the ranch too, now...where to put our new little man's tree?? :)

Lex got some fishing in & had Katelyn help out a little. This time he caught a softshell turtle...poor little turtle. Luckily, it was released back into the tank w/no harm done.

We didn't let Katelyn get too close the edge though, their "pet" alligator was keeping a close eye on those fish Lex was catching, hoping to snap one up himself. Scary!! :)

Love this sweet picture, 3 generations!

Surfside Beach Trip

We headed to Surfside Beach, near Galveston, with the Kilgore side of our family mid-July! There were 11 "adults" & 2 babies in the same house, we had a great time cooking out, playing on the beach, feeding the birds, watching the cousins play, etc. I didn't take a ton of pictures, Valarie was our designated photographer, so most of what I have here is stolen from my Mom until I get some copies from Val :)

After our beach trip, we swept through Galveston to hit the Aquarium @ Moody Gardens and then off to Cindy & Matt's new house in Houston for a quick stay.

Katelyn getting a few early Bday presents!

Garden Update

Our garden has been producing MASS amounts of tomatoes this year! We've given away at least 3 FULL grocery bags of cherry tomatoes, plus many cucumbers & large tomatoes. We just can't eat this many, but we do LOVE having them right the back yard. Here are the plants ago early on in the year, just a few red ones....

Here they are after being in Texas for 10 days....a little brown from lack of water & overflowing w/red tomatoes! YUM!

Lindsay's Visit

Lindsay came out to visit us the second week of July, after spending 2 weeks in Pleasanton. We really enjoyed having her here & Katelyn especially clicked with her right off the bat. We tried to show her the life of a 2 year old....

here we are at Pump It Up, we took multiple trips down the huge slide, one of Katiepoo's favorites!

Lindsay bought a Yoga mat in Texas & busted it out here to do some stretches, it wasn't long for Katelyn to join right in! She still talks about doing stretches with Lindsay. I wish I was still this flexible!

Katelyn LOVES birds! We ate breakfast at Panera Bread one morning & there were a few little birds hanging out on the patio. To say the least, she was obsessed :o) I love this picture though...

We also hit up the Greenville Children's Museum.

Thanks Lindsay for a great visit! Katelyn loves talking about her Aunt Lindsay!

24 Weeks

Today marks the 24 week mark! I had a doc appointment & it was pretty routine, nothing too exciting this month. Everything looks good though, great heart beat, which is always a relief. My feet have swollen the last 3 days in the afternoon though, which I never had with Katelyn. It's not too much, but enough for me to notice. I really hope that this isn't a trend for the rest of the pregnancy.

We did finalize a color scheme & theme for Baby Poth Dos - it's the cutest fabric from Hobby Lobby with 3 coordinating materials - argyle, stripes & polka dots - along with an airplane theme. Lex is thinking he will even make a couple of model airplanes to hang from the ceiling. I am very excited & happy my Mom has volunteered to make the quilt & curtains again. It makes it so much more special!

Let the decorating & planning begin! :)

Happy 4th!

We had a nice 4th.... playing outside, having a cookout, a picnic, eating cake, feeding ducks, watching fireworks, attending a festival, etc. Happy Independence Day!
