Lex's 32nd birthday didn't quite turn out as I had planned, but yet a day we will never forget. We made a last minute trip to Texas when his grandmother, Mammaw, was slowly saying goodbye to this world. We were able to arrive Saturday night and visit with her Sunday morning. Lex and several of his family members were able to say their last goodbyes as she drifted peacefully into heaven that afternoon. We truly believe that she was waiting until Lex was there and able to say goodbye. Her last day on earth was also Lex's birthday. A day and moment he will never forget. I only wish I was able to know her better myself. I do know that she has an amazing family and I am truly thankful for everything she did in raising her son, LFP Jr., being such an amazing role model for her grandson, LFP III, and I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to raise her great grandson, LFP IV and great granddaughter, Katelyn.
It wasn't the birthday I had planned, but a much more special birthday in the end.
We did manage to let him open a few presents and eat a few last minute cupcakes before we left on Saturday.

Lex's birthday was a very special day, indeed. The major effort to come in when your family did was a great gift, especially for Freddy to have his namesakes there for Mammaw's last few hours. He said he will never ever forget that day. Thank you all for being here, Poths!
