Born April 29th at 7:57 pm
8 lbs. 4 oz., 20" long
It was a Tuesday and I had gone to my 39 week appointment for a check-up. They had scheduled me for an induction for the upcoming Thursday, May 1st, which would have been a great day as it was my grandfather's birthday. But our little guy had plans of his own and I started contractions not long after I left my doc appointment. I called Lex about 1:00 or so and told him he should start heading home just in case these were the real thing. He picked up Katelyn early from school on his way home and we got to the hospital about 3ish. Everything progressed slowly to start, so they made me walk the halls for an hour or so before they checked me in. Once I got a room I was feeling the contractions in a major way. More than with either of the other two kiddos. They had told me the anesthesiologist would be over in 10-15 minutes, well an hour later...he finally showed up and I was feeling everything!! By the time the epidural set in and the doc showed up (only a few minutes later), I was completely dilated and ready to break my water and push. Very thankful to have received the epidural, but my goodness I was not planning to feel ALL the contractions leading up to the delivery. Luckily once our little man arrived, all that pain was forgotten. We had a beautiful, perfect baby boy!!
Here we are heading out the front door to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Luckily my Mom had been here all week waiting for this moment to take care of our big kids for us. We are so thankful that we didn't have to worry one bit about them being taken care of as soon as we needed her.
Love at first sight!
It was pretty late in the evening before we could have any visitors, but luckily Sandra & Fred were able to make it up to meet little Kyler on his actual BIRTHday!
Daddy holding Ky for the first time. He had a slight fever and sore throat, so he had to keep his distance for the first few days.
The next day my Dad drove down from Carrollton leaving at 5 am in order to meet our newest little baby boy. My mom brought the kids over and Grammy & Pappy came too. We also had a few other visitors like my Aunt & Uncle.
The kids were so excited to meet Kyler, Katelyn picked out balloons and Levi picked out a wubbanub paci as presents for their new baby brother.
Mimi meeting Kyler
Big Brother Levi - my sister made these adorable shirts for the kids to wear! I am saving them to get an even better picture once Kyler is a little bit bigger and can keep his head up a little :)
We were so lucky in getting this "suite" at the hospital, which included two rooms, one for me and my own bathroom and another with a fully stocked fridge, fold out couch, table and chairs and it's own bathroom. Pretty sweet!

First pictures as a family of FIVE!
He passed his hearing test!

We snapped a few of our own pictures after the hospital photographer set him in this cute setting. These are the blankets that my mom crocheted for him. Soon to be his best lovey I am sure!
Heading home!!
Flowers from Grammy & Pappy - and they still look great almost 2 weeks later!
As soon as we arrived home, Katelyn was eager to hold Kyler. Almost pulling him right out of my hands. This has been a completely different experience than when Levi was born. No jealously from either kid...yet! They both love on him so much and bring me diapers, wipes, pick out his clothes for the day, sit by me and read books while he eats next to me, and talk/play with him during his brief awake times. I hope they always love each other like this, makes me so happy. And it makes my job a lot easier.
