May Fun

Mimi made us all masks to wear out and about, thanks Mimi, for giving us some style during this COVID-19 pandemic! It's weird times for sure, but we're adjusting and thankful to live in the country where only 1 confirmed case has been reported! Things are opening up now and we are starting to venture out a bit!

We've been able to hang out with our best framily neighbors too, which has been a blessing. We stayed distant until about Easter time, and then we gradually started seeing each other more. It's been nice to have at least some people to see and play with during all of us!

We've done quite a few projects around too.....

Lex built a platform for the zipline Katelyn got from Lindsay for Christmas! They are loving it!!

He built these shelves for both the boys closets in one afternoon. I was looking online trying to find something I could buy to stick in there, but before I bought anything I asked if he'd be willing to just make some, and so that day he went to the store and had them both done that afternoon! Thankful for a handy hubby!

And I spent the next few days caulking and painting them, now we have a place for ALL their trucks and toys, plus their clothes! Love it!

He also built me some iron piped and wood shelves for the laundry room, that I stained and he built. I haven't uploaded those pictures yet though, so I'll have to do that in the next round of posts.

The kids have had lots of fun with Legos and Playmobil together. Katelyn disassembled all her lego sets when we moved, but saved all the instructions. So she sorted and rebuilt a lot of them already.

Levi playing with a filter on my phone...LOL....and learning to drive the riding lawn mower, he's been very responsible so far! We're looking forward to the day he mow's the whole yard!

We've had a ton of storms lately.....but they brought this beautiful double rainbow one night! My camera didn't do it justice, we could see the whole thing! One of the storms also knocked down the big dead tree in our backyard, which was so helpful! Lex sawed it up and took it away and it looks so much better now! Plus we don't have a tree stump in the way! Win Win!

Kyler and I did a little watercolor painting with his new supplies he got for his birthday one day!

And we went to see the Thunderbirds fly over at the HEB parking lot in Floresville. We had a great seat and saw them fly a big circle around us, basically!

And Katelyn must have had a growth spurt recently, look how much taller she is than Levi! Might be awhile for him to catch up now!

National Elementary Honor Society

Katelyn was inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society this year as well. It's based on grades, but also on involvement and community service. She's really excited to do her first community service with the new inductees next week. She gets to help some of the teachers move their rooms up at the Elementary School. Congrats sweet girl, your hard work is paying off!

First and Last Day Pics Plus Promotion Parade

They grew so much this year without me even realizing! Whew, what a year! Now they are going into 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 6th grade!

In lieu of an awards ceremony and graduations (Kinder and 5th), their school did a promotion parade! It would have been a big year with two kiddos having graduation ceremonies, parties, field days, awards ceremonies, etc. And although I am sad to have missed those milestones, I am grateful for so many other things. Like our health, time together, a stable job for Lex, and a small community that truly made the best of a bad situation. We love this life!

The parade started at 6:30, we got in line about 6:10, and it was already wrapping through town. We made it through the line close to 7 ish. The kids loved seeing their teachers cheer them on as we drove by and Ms. Betty passed out cupcakes at the end of the line for all the kiddos. We got home and opened up all their awards and it was so fun for them to be recognized for all their work. Katelyn was working towards being the top girl runner (she and Mariella were hoping to tie) for the Mile Club, so that was a tad disappointing to not be able to finish. Otherwise, they both racked in the awards!

We are so proud of our Kindergarten Grad too! He is now a big FIRST grader!

All A's, UIL medal for spelling team 1st place, mileage club (53 miles), etc.

All A's, NEHS, Perfect Attendance, Bluebonnet Award, AR award, Mile Club (65 miles), etc.

Hey Mrs. Koether & Mrs. George

And as a fun surprise when they got home, I made them a Candy Gram to celebrate our grads! They loved them!

And one more picture to remember how much they grow during Elementary. First day of Kinder to Last day of 5th grade! These years really flew by! I remember her first day of Kinder like it was yesterday! We are so proud of you, sweet girl! On to Junior High, you are going to do so well, we have no doubt!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was super sweet this year, like always! Lots of cards, yummy food, and dishes done! Love my sweet kids, so thankful for them! (And of course Lex who really did most of the work!)

We took a drive that morning and hopped out for some pictures around Poth....we found this cornfield and a wheat field (that happens to be owned by Patricia & Victor), they were so cooperative!

We delivered flowers to Grammy's grave too, Happy Mother's Day, we miss you!

That afternoon, we went hiking at Jackson Nature Park in Stockdale. It's on the Cibolo River, so it's got some elevation but other parts look like we are just hiking at the ranch. LOL. It was nice to get out and get some fresh air for sure!

When we came home, we zoomed with Mimi to tell her Happy Mother's Day too. Really wish we could have spent the day with her! And of course Cindy, Drew, and Pops too! We miss y'all!

Then we lit up the fire and made s'mores!

Such a great day! Love my family!
