Lex had a successful dove hunting weekend and the kids jumped in on the action at the end by helping him clean the birds....I was shocked at how much they enjoyed this. Like loved it!! haha! I guess we'll have a few hunters pretty soon!

Country Life
And Pappy has started making arrowheads out of flint and the boys really got into "helping", okay they actually just enjoyed busting them up!
Jackson spent the night with us Saturday, they played hard and had a blast! So glad the kids friends always seem to get along with everyone!
And Hadley turned 6 this week!! Happy Birthday Hadley!
I spied Levi on the Poth FB page....3rd grade used shaving cream to make different landforms in class one day! Doing good, Levi!!
Oh and we've had an unusual about of Geckos lately....one surprised me in my water cup one morning. Unfortunately, I didn't notice him until he was IN my mouth! I spit the mysterious chunk from my water into the sink to see this little guy! UGH, so gross!!
And we had an influx of blister bugs one night on our porch. We didn't realize what they were until we spotted this on Levi's neck the next day. He said he felt something weird, but it didn't truly hurt. So we googled it and they were definitely blister bugs. #countrylife
I guess living in the country is finally catching up with us....we've had this stray cat hanging out at our house since Saturday night. We thought it was Kim and Dean's so we fed it a little on Saturday night (it was crying like it was hungry) so now it won't leave and it won't stop crying. Poor thing. Kim gave us some cat food to get started with and the kids have named it Hunter. So I guess we have a cat now! So far he's been really sweet and lets the kids pick it up with out scratching or biting. We'll see how long he sticks around!

Homecoming
Homecoming this year was a little anti-climatic for us because we didn't actually get to go to the game. We really enjoying going to at least a few games every year (one day I'm sure we'll go to them all, but for now a few per season is enough for us). Anyways, ALL the home games have already been sold out for the remainder of the season, so we dressed up and Katelyn got to have her first mum, so that was fun! AND our little cousin, Ella, was chosen as the kindergarten court girl! She got to carry the crowns on the field while they presented the Queen, King, Prince, Princesses during the game. She did such a great job (we did get to watch it live streamed)!!
And the elementary kids decorated masks to wear to school that day in honor of homecoming! (Ok, so I made Levi's, but Kyler did his at school :)
After school pictures of the Poth cousins!
Great job Ella!!
The evening of the game, Pam & Nash and their kiddos hung out here while we live streamed the game. The kiddos have a fun time re-creating homecoming in our living room....hahah!!

Sweet 6 year old!
This boy amazes me (all my kiddos do, of course) but I have a few pics of this one from this month, so I thought I'd share! Here he picked these flowers from the backyard, just for his Momma!
And here he is showing his excitement over winning this droid from the local libraries summer reading contest! Every year they let you put your name in a drawing for items they've acquired through donations based on how many minutes of reading you do. Kyler put all his entries into this droid and he actually won! It is the coolest little toy too. You build it and can reconfigure it over and over again. And then control it with an app on my phone. He's loving it! Great job reading this summer, Kyler!
And then he started teaching himself how to write in cursive, just for fun! This morning he wrote Katelyn a note that said Happy Thanksgiving! and Happy Fall Y'all (I just put out my fall decor this weekend) in cursive. He's pretty amazing!
And a few more cute pics of him right after he lost his first tooth!
Keep being you!

Happy 40th Lex!!
FORTY AND FABULOUS!
Lex turned 40, hard to believe!!
We were hoping to have a joint 40th birthday party, but COVID ruined that plan. So we made the best of it and celebrated with the family! Lindsay's birthday is two days before Lex's, so she came in town and we had lunch at Lew's to celebrate them both. It was also labor day weekend, so we hit up the river for some fun the day before Lex's birthday and then on his actual birthday we opened presents and had Fred over for homemade Lasagna (keto for Lex of course)!
Apparently, I didn't take any pics of me and Lex...but we had fun relaxing mostly. Ella came with us since we went on the Tuesday after Labor Day (randomly both Lex and the kiddos had an extra day off!) Perfect little river spot in Comfort, TX!
Happy 40th Lex! We love you!

August Birthday's
Mimi and Pops came down to celebrate August birthdays a few weeks ago. We hadn't seen them since Spring Break, so it was so nice! We kept our distance, but made the best of it!
We were able to exchange presents and eat dinner out on the back porch! Mimi made Katelyn this blanket for her birthday, isn't it so amazing! I love it!
And Kyler lost his FIRST tooth while they were here too! He was so excited! And the tooth fairy even brought him two dollar bills with pixie dust on them. He's saved them and every now and then will use a little of his pixie dust to make him run so fast that he thinks he's flying! Love this sweet boy!
And thanks for the family pic, Mimi! We haven't had one of all of us in awhile! :)

Random Fun Times
Kyler decided he wanted to sew one day, so he made a pillow for his playmobil people and a playmobil size stuffed bear. He loves being crafty!
Lex has been letting the big kids drive the mule around our house lately and they have been loving it. Me on the other hand, have been nervous! They've been really responsible so far, but it still makes me nervous! Maybe they'll be good drivers by the time their 16 at least!
Water fight!!
I brought out Duplos one day when I was watching Hudson and then these kiddos took them over! Love that they can still play with little kid toys and have a blast!
Katelyn and I went on a birthday shopping spree with her b-day money! She chose to hit up Claire's, Lolli & Pops Candy store, Old Navy, and Target! We had a blast and I especially loved watching her shop and getting to say YES to whatever she wanted to buy, because it was her money! Thank you Pappy for the birthday money!
