Allison & Blake

Allison got married in Houston last weekend and I was so happy to be invited. Lex had a meeting in Connecticut so he couldn't make it, but I was able to meet up with Karen, Michelle, & Brooke to hang out for the evening. It was a beautiful night!

Katelyn Lately

Track season has come to an end for Katelyn's 9th grade year and it ended on a super high note, with a PR in the 1600 at the Regional Meet of a 5:30. After a slump mid season, we determined she must have been having a growth spurt so we added in a lot more food, vitamins, and BEETS to increase her VO2 Max. She was sucking air, coughing, and completely drained by the end of her races and by the end of the season she PR'd. There's so much more to running, than just running and we are learning as we go!

Before Regionals, she got 3rd place behind Rylee & Brooklyn at Area to qualify for the Regional Meet. We've got some fast girls in our district!

First place as a team at Area

This is Coach McKinney's last year as head Coach for girls track and cross country. We are going to miss him, Katelyn truly loves having him as a coach. It won't be the same without him. He has a way of being witty and funny, but having high expectations of the girls without ever yelling or showing disappointment on bad days. He's the perfect coach for Katelyn, we're going to miss him!

A few weeks ago, we cashed in our Christmas gift from Lindsay with tickets to see Lauren Daigle. She got us 4 tickets so Katelyn could bring a friend, so Mercedes came along too. It was so fantastic, I always liked her music, but seeing her live was pretty great! She's a Christian artist, but has a hippie vibe. She's pretty amazing!

Katelyn was inducted into the National Beta Club this month as well, which is a huge honor. Only 5 freshman were inducted, we are so proud!!

The distance girls are not only fast, they are smart too!

Izzy got fixed this month and we let her recover in the laundry room, the kiddos all loved having her in the house. Homework is better with a kitty in your lap <3

Levi Lately

Twins <3

Levi has been loving baseball this season and really shown a lot improvement. Just last night he got two hits, scored some points, and made several plays to get a few outs too. He's enjoying taking lessons at Foxy's when he can and has been practicing in the backyard quite a bit on his own. He's learning that hard word, pays off! So proud of him! Next year starts JH sports, he's going to love it!

This week in the paper, all three kiddos names were listed for their Wilson County Stock show success! So fun to see their names in the paper!

And a funny story....Levi used his own money to buy himself a new phone case. About a week later, Pops came to spend the night with them while I went to Allison's wedding. Well, after Pops left Levi couldn't find his phone. He looked everywhere and we finally used the Gabb tracking app to see where it may be. It was showing to be on CR 220 about 2 miles from here, so weird we thought. Until Lex asked, jokingly, "you didn't put your phone on top of Pop's car, did you?". A light bulb went off and that's exactly where he left it. When Pop's drove off, the phone must have stayed on for a few miles and then slid off when he turned onto CR 220. About an hour had passed since Pops left but the phone was still pinging, so we hoped it was not too damaged. Lex and Levi hopped in the car and drove over to it's location, along the way a big Dooley truck was in front of them and Lex was worried those big tires were going to smash it right as they drove up to it, but luckily it was right in the middle of the lane and had not been run over!! He is one lucky kiddo, the case was scratched up, but the phone was 100% fine. He left a 5 star review on amazon for the case keeping his phone intact, haha! And he bought himself another one.

DOUBLE DIGITS

Happy 10th Birthday Kyler Alexander Poth!!

Can't believe all three of our kiddos are in the DOUBLE DIGITS!! We decorated the house after he went to bed, so it'd be a fun surprise when he woke up in the morning.

He set his alarm to wake up at 5:30 so he would have time to open presents before school. But when he opened his door, he found this fun surprise!! He knocked on his wall to wake Lex and I up because he didn't want to bust through without me there <3

PRESENT TIME!! But first a quick picture at 5:30 in the morning, Katelyn wasn't quite up and moving yet, but she made her appearance soon after!

He got his first pellet gun (air rifle). Levi has been letting him use his BB gun and pellet gun shooting targets in the back yard, so he had asked Levi if he would just give him one of his guns for his bday, but we decided he was ready for one of his own and surprised him with a new one that is all his. Well, he thought Levi got it for him and went and gave him a big hug after opening it and Levi just said, "Your Welcome," taking credit! I was like, ugh, sorry dude, your not taking credit for that, LOL!!

He also got a pool floaty, clothes, paint, a Lauren Daigle vinyl record, headphones (from Levi), desk organizers (from Katelyn), and a Lego VIP jet airplane w/ limousine. He's one lucky kiddo!

Then came his breakfast request....Bagels & Lox, all 3 kiddos were happy with this choice!

Just a little photo I took to as I was making sure he had everything in his bag for school. This shows you how much he loves to read, he's always got plenty of options and is usually in the middle of several different novels. And his other love lately is Fortnite, which I'm still on the fence if this is a good one or not. Lex does enjoy bonding with them when they all play together though, so that's a bonus.

Pappy came over for dinner and we had "Chicken Parmesan" w/out the parm for Kyler. He loved it, even without the dairy! And an oreo ice cream cake for dessert (also dairy free), it was delish!!

Since his Bday was on a Monday, we celebrated with a little family fun on Sunday. He chose Chester's Burgers for lunch, bowling, and to watch a Harry Potter play called "Puffs" at the NB community theater. He loved every bit of it!

We must have worn him out, because he took a nice good nap on the way home!

He's famous!! It floors me at how much $$ some of these kids get!

And in more fun news...Kyler was elected as Vice President of the National Elementary Honor Society this week too. He's stoked, especially since neither Katelyn or Levi got this honor. He's the first! We're so proud!
