Nashville with the Poth's

"Cock of the Walk" was an excellent fried catfish place we ate at!
We sure are tiny in this big rocking chair! I can't say Lex and I ever really feel tiny, so this was nice!
We hit up a Karaoke bar in Nashville and was pleasantly surprised by all the undiscovered talent! Guess they are trying to get discovered :o)
We had to go to the Grand Ole Opry House while we were there too. Above is the good old Porter Wagner, we also got to see Pam Tillis , Mel McDaniel, Jeff Bates , Marty Stewart and Jeannie Seely. There were several more too! I apparently went when I was one year old, but that doesn't count, now I can truly say we've been!

Waiting outside the Grand Ole Opry House!

The Poth's....it was so nice to see them. We hadn't seen them since Christmas last year! Thanks for the trip Poth's...we both really enjoyed it a lot!

One afternoon Sandra and I went over to the Gaylord Opryland to take a look. She had the chance to stay there for the first 5 nights for a conference that she went to. It was beautiful and huge! I had been to the one in Dallas, but it was at Christmas so this was decorated completly different. While we explored, the boys took a nice nap!

The next day for lunch we boarded the General Jackson cruise ship. We had some good lunch and got to listen to more country music. I am definitely really hooked on country again for the moment. I've always loved it, but to be in Nashville really gets you back in the mood to really enjoy it!

Fred and Lex enjoying a beer on the General Jackson.
Here's a good view of downtown Nashville and a big bridge.

Overall we had a great trip! It was nice to see the Poth's and to get away for a short trip!

The Office

Well, not quite as entertaining as the TV show....but here's our story...

I put a new coat of paint on our office and that inspired us to clean the carpets....

Then we cleaned the carpets throughout the entire house! It's amazing how much of Ginobili's dirt came up! We love the Rug Doctor! And boy what exciting lives we have :)

The office is almost finished. We bought this desk from a neighbor of ours that was moving, it's huge and we got a great deal!

So for the past few weeks I have been giving Ginobili a little more freedom during the day while I am at work. I had never left him in the house for longer than 4 hours without being in his crate. Well, today I came home from lunch after he had been in the office on his doggie bed all day. He seemed fine and happy to see me. So when I went back to work I put him back on his bed in the office and left the door cracked, so he didn't feel so trapped. I thought I'd come home and he'd be waiting for me by the door after he escaped from the confinement of the office. Instead I found him with the office door still barley cracked....

He had torn up his entire bed and scattered it throughout our newly decorated office!

He is a sad puppy right now, because he is in major trouble!!!! No more pretty doggie beds for you! And back to the crate while I'm at work!

So sorry pup!

Lex's Beach Trip

I had planned my trip to Dallas back in March and Lex couldn't come with me because he doesn't have enough vacation time. So, he and some of our friends decided to take a trip to the beach to go fishing for Memorial Day! They rented a beach house and a pontoon boat - and yes, I was quite jealous! But hey, I still got a vacation too! They had a great time! Here are a few pictures I stole off of Sara's blog! You can check out more in the link to the right...Ryan & Sara's Blog!

Dallas Trip

So it took me a little longer to get this posted, but hey it's here now! Last weekend I got a chance to head back to Dallas to visit my family! The main reason for the trip was to surprise my grandmother for her 80th Birthday! All the grandkids decided to plan it ourselves and I will say it turned out pretty great! I think my Dad counted around 60-70 people that showed! Here are a few pictures...

Here's all of my cousins on the Kilgore side. We planned the whole party!

Here is Granny opening her gift. Each of the cousins took on different tasks for the party and mine was to create a scrapbook for her. I did it digitally through picaboo.com and it turned out pretty nice!

Here's a pic of all the great-grand kids with Granny!

Here's the whole gang! She even had several friends come that have known her since elementary school! I hope when I am 80 I have this many people that come to celebrate with me!

More family!

The rest of the weekend, I got to hang out with my parents and my sister! It was so great to be home and just relax like old times. I also got a chance to see a few friends. Here are some pics:

Friday night I went to dinner with a few friends...Emily, Janet and Susan!

Saturday night Cindy and I took our parents out to Celebrate Mother's & Father's day! We went to Buca de Beppo, one of the favorite restaurants!

Me, Sista and Momma!

Here we are with my other grandmother, Me-Maw! We had lunch with her on Sunday!

At the airport, saying good-bye! I think this is the only pic I have of us not eating :o) We ate a lot this weekend! And boy was it good! Love y'all and miss you!
