Memorial Day @ the Beach - UPDATED

For Memorial Day, we headed to Litchfield Beach, just south of Myrtle Beach. We rented a house with 3 other couples and just relaxed for three days! It was great. Unfortunately, the battery on my camera went out on me, so I didn't get to take any pictures! BUT - luckily Julie already posted a few on her blog and Sara has a few on Facebook, so I am just going to steal a few of their pics! (Thanks Julie & Sara :o)***For those of you that already looked at this blog...I added a few more pictures, thanks Sara!

We ate outside at a place called Creek Ratz for dinner one night. It's so nice to be able to sit outside on the water at night. We had a great time!

Julie and I on the boat

Here we are fishing off the back of the boat. I actually caught a fish - but it was pretty small. Later that day off the shore is where all the real fishing was done. Most of the day us girls laid on the beach, read and relaxed.

Ryan & Sara, aren't they cute in their hats!
On Saturday night, the boys headed to the beach to do a little more fishing and much to their surprise, they did great! The best part about it was that there was a Wedding Reception going on at the house they happen to be fishing in front of and everyone from the reception got to join in on their fun! This picture only shows a few of the fish they caught. If you will notice that Lex's fish is actually a SHARK! AND...he caught it with his bare hands! It broke off his line and he went running after it thinking it was a blue fish - much to his surprise, he picked it up and discovered it was a shark! Yikes!

This picture is of the Chef from the Reception, he came down when he heard they were catching all these fish and offered to grill it for them right there on the spot! It was so exciting and very tasty!

Here is the finished product..yummy

Chow downLex brought our bikes, just so the boys could pull their fishing gear out the jetty! Pretty neat little contraption they rigged up, huh?

Clayton's big blue fish!
Ryan, also caught a shark!!

Joyce reeled in this cute little shark at the end of the night too!

We all had a great time and can't wait to go back next year!

Strawberry Picking and Cooking Out!

This weekend was beautiful! We went up to a Strawberry Farm just north of Greenville on Saturday morning! Neither of us had been before, so it was a lot of fun. The picking didn't actually take much effort or much time, but it was nice to take a drive and get some fresh berries! YUMMY! We made strawberry shortcake today and I'm not sure what else we'll use them for, I may end up having to freeze some!

On Saturday night, we went to Clayton and Julie's house for a cookout! Clayton turned the big 3-0! I never thought I would have friends in their 30's - makes me feel old too! :o)
