Edisto Beach Vacation

We took a trip to Edisto Beach this Memorial Day weekend. The last time we went here, Katelyn was 6 weeks old! It was all a little bit of a blur, so it was nice to go back and really get to enjoy the beach this time around. Katelyn loved the waves and really enjoyed trying to eat the sand, over and over and over!

There were a ton of pelicans and sea gulls, so Katelyn loved bird watching!

Lex brought our boat along for the boys to do some fishing, but one night he took me out on a ride and it was beautiful! I don't think I have ever seen such calm waters. We saw a ton of dolphins and pelicans! Here are a few pictures, but my camera barely does it justice.

You can see a dolphin in this one if you look close.

Visit to Texas

We just got back from a great visit to see Lex's family in Pleasanton/San Antonio, TX. We had a great time and really enjoyed flying with Katelyn this time around. She is becoming a much better traveler the older she gets (as long as she's not pinned in a carseat for long periods of time...flying is definitely the way to go!)

We did a lot of fun things, so I thought it would be easier to break it up into several posts, so keep on scrolling!

Mammaw's 100th Bday Party

The main purpose of our visit was to attend Lex's grandmother's 100th birthday party on Sunday. His family rented out the activites center at her nursing home and invited all her friends and family. We think the final count was around 150 in attendence. That should tell you what a great lady she is! We are very glad we were able to go and see a lot of family we haven't seen in a long time (and many that I had not met yet)! Happy 100th Mammaw!

Saying hello to her Great Mammaw

Visiting with Nanny

We also went to see Lex's other grandmother and Katelyn's great-grandmother, Nanny! We spread out a sheet on the floor and she got to crawl around and show Nanny all her new skills!

What a little stinker! :o)

Visiting with the Hills

On Saturday, my Uncle Bubby (Ralph), Aunt Linda Kay and Cousin Suzanne with husband Jeremy came down to Pleasanton to meet Katelyn for the first time. We missed them this last Christmas, so it was great to meet up for an afternoon and catch up. We went to lunch at Bill Miller's BBQ (Lex's request for some good Texas BBQ) and then headed back to the house for dessert. We really enjoyed seeing them and so glad they were able to meet up!

Fun at the Ranch

The ranch is looking so nice with all the rain that South Texas has been getting. I wish I had taken a picture of the tank, it's the fullest I have seen it since I met Lex. We didn't stay long because it was hot out, but we had to give Katelyn a nice tour on the mule and take a picture of her next to the tree Fred planted for her.

Play Time

We were lucky enough to have an empty seat next to us on one of the flights and Katelyn loved sitting on her own and playing!

Going for a magic carpet ride!

So excited to actually get to touch the fan!

Sandra borrowed a whole bunch of toys from a friend of hers that has two grandkids that live close by. We are so thankful because they keep Katelyn entertained for hours. She especially loved this ride on bike!

Yeah! She made it through the tunnel, so much fun!

I love the mohawk look in this picture...haha!

An actual picture of the three of us, that hardly ever happens! :o)

Yep, that's our little stinker!
We had a great trip and can't wait to see everyone again soon!

A Day at the Lake

Today we headed out to the lake with the kiddos. We had two boats, 6 adults, 3 babies and a whole bunch of stuff. There is an island not far from the boat ramp that we parked at and hung out all day! We had a good time, but I think Katelyn really enjoyed it. She was so worn out, she fell asleep on the boat ride back to the car and then again for about an hour on the way home (in addition to her normal two naps)... worn out! Much thanks to the Glenn's for letting us use their pack and play on the island...we now know to bring one for the next trip! Here are a few fun pics from the day!

We have a crawler!

Well, the moment has finally come...our baby is now mobile!

This morning she probably moved forward an inch or two...but I actually caught her very first true crawl on video! As you can tell in my voice in the video, I was not expecting it! YEAH!!! I called Lex right away and he told me to go ahead and upload the video so he can check it out!

Here ya go...more to come I am sure once she gets really good at it! Go Katelyn !!

Playtime

Trying to capture a pic on Mother's Day...Lex was outside, so I thought I'd try and be creative...

...then it turned into a "let's eat/lick" mommy session!

The playroom is officially done...for now! There are so many things I would love to add, but we've decided she has way too many toys right now anyway!

Playing in the big girl bath tub!

Reading in her reading nook :o)

Already trying to figure out how that gate works!
