Decking the Halls

We started "decking the halls" a little early this year, like mid-November! And are enjoying it so much! Lex went all out with our yard this year and even made reindeer out of the mesquite trees behind our house. And I used the mesquite to make ornaments for our new tree in the living room, there is something about Christmas that makes us extra crafty!

Here is Pappy's tree the kids decorated this year over Thanksgiving break. So many great memories of Grammy were discussed as we placed each ornament on this tree. She loved collecting ornaments! Especially red birds.

And Mimi brought supplies to teach us all how to sew angel ornaments! The kids did a great job sewing them all by themselves (well, almost)! Here we're sporting our "Be the Village" shirts for Drew!! Love you Drew!!

Decking the Halls! The kids did this tree all by themselves this year!! And the little trees in their rooms too!

And we can't put our tree up without eggnog! Family traditions are the best!

Our new tree is a pre-lit tree and the top is quite a bit brighter than the bottom...haha! Why does Katelyn look so old here, she's growing up too fast!

We may have started a new tradition this year too....we let the kids climb up on top of the roof while Lex had the ladder out to hang Christmas lights. Luckily, our roof is fairly flat so it wasn't too dangerous! And they were stoked!

Ornaments from our land....thanks to pinterest and my cricut!
