First Day of School Fun

The kiddos started school last Thursday IN PERSON! Which we weren't quite sure if that would happen at all considering we are in a pandemic! Social distancing, closed water fountains, and required face masks are probably the biggest differences this year. But so far so good. The kids haven't complained a bit about having to wear a mask, basically all day...even on the playground!

We now have a 6th, 3rd, and 1st grader!! Can't wait to see how this year goes! Prayers they can stay in the classroom and COVID stays away from Poth America!

Kyler got Mrs. James for 1st grade, he loved her at meet the teacher!

Levi got Mrs. Yanta for 3rd grade homeroom! And she she seems amazing!

Katelyn's meet the teacher, didn't allow parents in order to comply with social distancing. They rushed them around for a quick tour, gave them their schedules and overall it just made her more nervous! BUT, the first day of school was great! She found all her classes, her locker and even gets to do pre-athletics and band everyday! She's pumped and loving it so far!

The night before school started.....our annual water tower pic and ice cream treats!

Lex "ringed" in when we were taking our first day of school pics through the doorbell.....LOL!

And cinnamon toast for breakfast on the first day of school!

Party time!

We rented a water slide for Katelyn's party this year and it was a blast! We weren't quite sure if other families would be okay with a party or not, but pretty much everyone we invited was able to come! It turned out so great! AND we ended up getting to keep the slide Friday night and all day Saturday, so we definitely got our moneys worth!

Happy Birthday to Katelyn

We celebrated Katelyn's actual birthday at home! We started her day with the requested scavenger hunt, this time we attached strings from her room to each present, so she had to follow the string to find her hidden presents around the house! We like to drag out the present process as much as possible!!

Here are Lex and Levi setting up the string the night before, we quarantined her to her room, so she had no idea what to expect in the morning!

Playmobil, Legos, hair accessories, books, etc. She loved all her new toys and presents! Thank you to Mimi, Pops, Cindy, Drew, and Pappy for sending and dropping off her presents on her birthday as well. We loved zooming with our Kilgore fam and seeing Pappy on her actual birthday! We have the best family, although we couldn't see them due to the pandemic.

Lots of playtime with her brothers the rest of the day.....

And food was a #1 priority as well....donuts, kolaches, & chocolate milk for breakfast! And curbside Olive Garden for dinner! Her favorites!

To the sweetest, hardworking, playful, energetic, determined & motherly ELEVEN year old that we love so much. You are growing up too quickly for this Momma, but I love that you are mature and responsible but still love playing and having fun! You bring so much love and happiness to our family, thank you for being you! May you have a blessed year of good health and lots of new memories and adventures as a MIDDLE SCHOOLER!
We love you so much!
