Levi and Jackson spent lots of time together this summer, sleep overs, playdates, and lots of CG workouts too!
I helped the boys clean their room towards the end of the summer and organize their lego table. I had to take a picture because most of the summer the carpet was covered with legos, cars, and cardboard playmobil houses! I loved all their creativity and their ability to play and entertain themselves, but it was time to clean it up!
One evening, Katelyn and I, went to church for the Junior High launch night, and the boys played with Harper in the mud behind our house!! They made rivers, dams, and had a blast. Kyler said it was the best night of his life!!
And when Katelyn and I showed up, she didn't want to get dirty but did play with the froggies!
We got a little creative one day and brought out shaving cream, paint, etc.....the boys thought it was hilarious to pretend to shave like Daddy! (Don't worry the razor has the plastic protector on it.)
Katelyn painted her jewelry box from Mimi! It turned out so cute!
The boys both painted canvas' and we all painted rocks to leave around town, as a little random act of kindness and just for fun!
We made homemade pizza one night (the dough included). Even a true keto dough, that was delicious! Way better than the store bought versions!
Cardboard houses, apartments, movie theaters, banks....that was a big theme for this summer. Here is the bank Katelyn made, which includes vaults for all her playmobil people :)
And this is what you get when you let the kids each pick out one cereal at the store......candy for breakfast!
And Levi talked me into getting this coconut too....we drilled a hole in it and he drank the coconut milk. Then we baked it and toasted the coconut flakes too. He loved this experience, our little foodie!
Kyler wanted to sew something, so after cleaning out their sock drawers, we decided to make sock puppets and he made a shirt for the little doll Katelyn had given him.
More friend time with Paige, she gets along with all of them so well!
And a little volcano fun in the backyard. The boys tried to dig up enough dirt to form a volcano, but it was so hard and dry, so we just used a bowl. Science is fun!
And big news for us big kids (me and Lex)....we finally had someone come build out a workshop/loft area inside the garage. It's been in the plan the whole time, but Lex was hoping to build it himself. He just doesn't have enough time. Plus we needed to get electricity in there, so we ended up hiring someone and we are so excited!
SLIME! Hadley came over and played all afternoon one day and she and Kyler had a blast. They are two peas in a pod. They can play with cars or princesses and both have a blast!
Back to School shopping was a lot of fun with Katelyn this year. She can't wear leggings or short shorts anymore, so we were able to find her lots of cute jeans, shirts and even some longer shorts one day. Love that she loves shopping now! I see lots of shopping trips in our future. The boys can't stand when we leave them home, but they also can't stand shopping. Luckily, they always end up having fun boy time while were gone.
Kyler started piano lessons a mid-July and has had a few lessons since. He was super into it the first week and would practice all on his own. Since then the newness has worn off, but he's mostly pretty good and practicing enough to at least get through the songs by lesson day. He wrote out the lyrics to Jesus Loves Me (all by himself), so that Ms. Courtney could teach him how to play it, just like she's done for the Katelyn and Levi. Can't wait to see how far he takes it!
Lots of fort making throughout the summer too. This one was pretty detailed. With "bathrooms", front doors, bedrooms, etc. And each with their own "house". This is what childhood should look like, love it!
.......And lots of wrestling with your Daddy!!!
And this is Kyler's "Charging Station" that he built with Lex. He had been talking with Lex about this Miles From Tomorrowland toy he wanted to build, so Lex told him to go draw it up and they'd try and build it. So Kyler got out his ruler, measured, and drew out not only the final product, but each piece they needed to cut out of wood. Lex was super impressed and didn't expect him to come back with "engineering style drawings" at age 6! We were expecting a picture of the final product, not all the different pieces that it needed to become a 3D object. Pretty cool, smart boy!! He then sanded it and painted it all by himself.
