The season began with a fun run hosted in Poth....this is a good looking group of kiddos!
So far they have run in Floresville, Karnes City, Feast (SA), Poth, & College Station....Friday they have the McNeil meet, then it's Corpus/Islander Splash and then we're already at District & Regionals and hopefully State again! They have 4 strong runners again, but in order to make a team, they need 5. There are a few girls competing for that 5th spot, so hopefully we'll have a chance at state as a team. If not, they can still qualify individually.
At Feast we were able to finally meet Kynley Albright (photo on the left), who is a 3rd cousin of Katelyn's from our Swierc family. Her grandmother is Sandra's first cousin (they have 52 first cousins if I remember right!) We were glad to finally meet her and her family. She runs for Boerne Champion and is a rockstar, right behind Elizabeth Leachman (photo on the right) who Katelyn was also excited to meet. Leachman is a current National Record Holder and Olympic Trial athlete we watched compete in the Spring on TV.
Reesa coordinated Grab & Go breakfasts for the cross country teams this season and has been great about taking photos and sending them out to the parents. Such a fun surprise each week to get them ready for their meets!
Levi has been running off an on too, with Hayes & Bryce!
He made his first debut at the Poth Meet! He did so well and enjoyed it too!! He's playing football too, so he isn't running every day, but plans to try and run when he can with the hopes to compete at the District Meet at least.
The Varsity girls got to run in College Station this past week. They had a great time bonding to and from the meet as well, which makes it all that much more fun!
Stay tuned for more XC updates!
