Enjoying all the new things!

The last week or two, we've just been enjoying all our new things and toys! My new toy was an air fryer, which we have really enjoyed playing with. We've made chicken tenders, burgers, fries, veggies, etc. and other than forgetting to spray the basket with pam and things sticking, everything has been super quick and tasty! I'm enjoying trying some new recipes.

Today I used my new bookmark from Kyler as I read through my devotion book from Lex with my sweet new nail stickers that have lasted 8 days so far!! Love love love!

We made pizza the other night and used the cooking science kit Mimi and Pops gave the kids for Christmas! So fun!

We've made several trips to the park....Kyler skateboards the whole time, Levi rides his bike, Katelyn rollerblades....and we used their new tennis balls and my old rackets and started learning a few basic skills. We've had beautiful weather to be outside and play!

We've also played all their new games they received and pulled out several from the closet we haven't played in a while. Here Katelyn and I are playing Bananagrams!! I won both times ;)

Levi is becoming our little tech guru. He knows way more than I do already. I have a feeling he's going into computer science or engineering one day! Thankful he can help me when Lex is at work!

New Years Eve....

We taught the kids how to play spoons....everyone, except Kyler loved it! It's hard being the littlest!

We toasted in the new year with sparkling drinks and fireworks too!

At 10:00 Lex and I were ready for bed, but these three were determined to stay up until midnight! They played games (just the three of them) until midnight. I believe this is the first time Kyler has ever stayed up that late, I was impressed he made it!! I ended up staying up too and we all stepped outside to watch the fireworks along the horizon, it is amazing how many big fireworks we could see just here from our driveway. It was amazing!

New Years Day....Lex cooked us his good luck dinner.....black eyed peas, greens, & ham! Delish as always. Let's just pray this years works out better than last years :)

Levi cooked us up some Mexican street corn too. He used the cookbook Lindsay got him and made these all by himself. It too was delish!

Building his erector set with Lex....

Katelyn's growing up too quickly these days....she came out dressed like this and thought she was hot stuff! Haha....luckily she doesn't dress like this out of the house yet! Cutie pie!

And I am totally impressed with these nail stickers from Ulta, they have lasted 8 days now with no chips!

Happy New Year!! Here's to a year of hope and love! We are looking forward to see what all God has in store for us this year!

Happy Birthday, Pappy!

This year we celebrated Pappy with a little party at the ranch. He wanted a seafood fry, so that's what we did! We had fish, shrimp, hushpuppies. fries, onion rings, salad, and pumpkin cake for dessert. Lex did all the frying and it turned out delicious!

We love you Pappy! Happy Birthday!

Poth Christmas

Mid-morning on Christmas day Lindsay and Pappy came over to have our Poth Christmas. We had a great time opening presents, eating lunch (tamales and chili for the win) and playing with all our new stuff! Thank y'all for all the gifts and a great time. We love our family!

Levi's first BB Gun....his favorite gift of all!

Kyler's favorite gift this season was his skateboard, he saw one at Academy and has taught himself how to ride. He's doing so well, we are all impressed and a little surprised!

Katelyn's favorite gift is probably her new phone and hoverboard! We found a new "first phone" option created by a new company out of Austin, we got in on the Beta round of customers, so there have been a few glitches, but overall we and she have been very happy with it! She doesn't have access to the internet, social media, or any apps that can become addictive. So far so good!

Daddy showing Levi how to aim....although Levi has been passing Lex up on some of their shooting competitions! He's going to give Lex some good competition over the years. Lex found his new hunting companion!

Santa Came!!

We woke up to lots of presents, filled stockings and even some footprints of Santa's on the floor. Wow, these kiddos must have been good this year!

The completed snowglobe Katelyn made me! I love how hard she works to make gifts for everyone each year! This will be one I can bring out every year and I love that!

The aftermath...

Daddy reading the card Kyler made him....he always makes things funny!  Silly Daddy!

Katelyn's gift to Daddy was a deck of cards where each card listed out the 52 things she loves about her Daddy. She came up with each reason all on her own, such a sweetie pie!

So excited!!

Kyler's gift from Katelyn was a handmade card, but she configured a red light bulb to light up for Rudolph's nose on the front.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is one of our favorite days of the year. Normally we'd spend it with family but this year it was just us. We facetimed with our Kilgore family  but otherwise we went to our church's Christmas Eve service at 4, then came home and had our "Journey to the Manger" dinner.

I set up the tripod to take the picture above and the boys were my test subjects before they got dressed to make sure I had it set and ready for our family picture....what goofballs :)

When we got home from church we set out all the food we'd gathered on our Journey to the Manger....cheese, cured meats, flat bread, olives, grapes, etc. This is by far one of the kids favorite traditions.

We put out reindeer food, grinch dust, cookies for santa, carrots and candy canes for the reindeer....whew, we were now prepared!

We checked where Santa was on the Santa Tracker....

Then we all got ready to be nestled in our beds for a long winters nap :) Levi and Katelyn had a really hard time going to sleep due to all their excitement!!
