Spring Break Continued...

So technically we didn't do this over "spring break" but we did it this past weekend and it's spring time, so we'll lump all this post together :)

I scouted out (with Lindsay's help) some shrubs to plant along the fence line that will hopefully grow big and solid enough to provide us some privacy once we have our pool put in! They are called Wax Leaf Ligustrum and are supposed to do well in clay, sand, salt and acidic soils.....so surely we can't mess that up, right?!? Praying they grow quickly into nice big bushes, so everyone down 181 can't watch us swim in the back yard! :) It's definitely an exciting step toward getting a pool!

Lindsay also helped me pick out this faux concrete rock that we'll be placing as a "jump rock" next to the pool. Lex and I wanted one fun feature for the pool and decided this would be the most practical long term over a slide or diving board, plus it'll look great with some greenery/palm trees behind it one day!

Love this sweet, athletic, beautiful girl!

And this boy who loves anything that's gas powered....he asked Lex if he could drive the riding lawn mover this weekend because he just felt the need to drive something gas powered! LOL! Luckily he's been very responsible when it comes to handling the mule or lawn mower, just hoping he doesn't get too comfortable and get reckless! Don't worry, we watch him like a hawk!

We also spent the night at the ranch one night during Spring Break, caught a bunch of Bass fish and cooked them up for dinner! They were delish!

The kids and I also finally used up some passes to the Doseum I have had for a year and a half. With Covid, we didn't use them last summer, so I was thankful they honored them. We spent the majority of our time in the SPY ROOM....all three of the kiddos really got into solving the riddles and moving on to the next level. We had to rush through the rest of the exhibits  and skip most of them because we had to get back for baseball practice. We can't wait to go back!

Kyler and Levi also really loved the construction area where they got to use real saws and real wood!

Decoding the Morse Code puzzle.

It's an undercover spy agent inconspicuously reading the newspaper on a park bench!

We had a great time! Now the count is down for summer!

Spring Break - Austin

We went up to Austin to spend the night and see our Kilgore fam! Now that Mimi, Pops, and Cindy have been vaccinated.....we were able to hang out mask free and even spend the night! It was much needed time with them!

First we met up with Cindy outside of Dell Children's, where Drew was still, for a picnic lunch. It was so good to see her! Drew ended up spending 72 days in the hospital (Jan. 1st - Mar. 15th)! We are so glad he's home and doing better! Prayers for continued healing, good nurse coverage, and a joyful life!

And I couldn't leave out this image of Cindy trying to climb up the loch ness monster....I've got a video, it's hilarious!

From there we went back to Cindy's house to play games, visit, and such. We also went to a nearby nature park in Leander that was super nice. We'd brought the kids bikes, so they biked and we walked!

The next day we all ventured down to the outlet mall in San Marcos to do a little shoe shopping and such. And look.....they all three still fit in on of these cars! Kyler was loving all these. I forget sometimes that he's still 6, he fits in so well with the big kids, he gets a little jipped when it comes to the little kid experiences. Glad he got to enjoy these this day!

Road Trippin' with my three favorite kiddos!

Life Lately

Congrats to Katelyn for making the Junior High Cheerleading team for 2021-2022!! She worked super hard learning the routines and practicing her tumbling skills. We're so proud of her work ethic! Can't wait to see her out on the field next school year!

She also finished the entire Harry Potter series, so we celebrated with a Hogwarts style dinner.....cornish pastries and butter beer! Kyler has also been very interested in Harry Potter lately and can read 90% of it on his own, but after finishing the first two books we've asked him to wait until he's older to continue, the stories get fairly violent and I'm not sure if he's realizing it's truly fiction. He keeps asking when he can start back up....I'm thinking 3rd grade at least!

Lots of fun and games around here lately too!

He's going to love this picture when he's older :)

Even a "growth plate injury" and boot doesn't stop this girl from tumbling!

Before the time changed, we set up an outdoor movie with Lex's Christmas present projector! This picture doesn't do it justice, it works great on the side of the barn! Lots of fun!

Lex added some shelving for me in the laundry room too! As a fun surprise, Katelyn "decorated" the brackets before we got the shelves in....haha!

Levi and Kyler are loving this mud pond they've created....they dug both holes and buried piping below to allow one hole to overflow to the other, our little engineers! I'm not loving all the mud, but it's definitely keeping them busy!

Another series Kyler is loving lately are the Eerie Elementary books. He got 4 for Valentine's Day.....read all 4 in 4 days. So I reserved the others through the library and when we got those, he read those 5 in 2 days I believe! #bookworm and I love it!

That's a little of life lately!
