So technically we didn't do this over "spring break" but we did it this past weekend and it's spring time, so we'll lump all this post together :)
I scouted out (with Lindsay's help) some shrubs to plant along the fence line that will hopefully grow big and solid enough to provide us some privacy once we have our pool put in! They are called Wax Leaf Ligustrum and are supposed to do well in clay, sand, salt and acidic soils.....so surely we can't mess that up, right?!? Praying they grow quickly into nice big bushes, so everyone down 181 can't watch us swim in the back yard! :) It's definitely an exciting step toward getting a pool!
Lindsay also helped me pick out this faux concrete rock that we'll be placing as a "jump rock" next to the pool. Lex and I wanted one fun feature for the pool and decided this would be the most practical long term over a slide or diving board, plus it'll look great with some greenery/palm trees behind it one day!
Love this sweet, athletic, beautiful girl!
And this boy who loves anything that's gas powered....he asked Lex if he could drive the riding lawn mover this weekend because he just felt the need to drive something gas powered! LOL! Luckily he's been very responsible when it comes to handling the mule or lawn mower, just hoping he doesn't get too comfortable and get reckless! Don't worry, we watch him like a hawk!
We also spent the night at the ranch one night during Spring Break, caught a bunch of Bass fish and cooked them up for dinner! They were delish!
The kids and I also finally used up some passes to the Doseum I have had for a year and a half. With Covid, we didn't use them last summer, so I was thankful they honored them. We spent the majority of our time in the SPY ROOM....all three of the kiddos really got into solving the riddles and moving on to the next level. We had to rush through the rest of the exhibits and skip most of them because we had to get back for baseball practice. We can't wait to go back!
Kyler and Levi also really loved the construction area where they got to use real saws and real wood!
Decoding the Morse Code puzzle.
It's an undercover spy agent inconspicuously reading the newspaper on a park bench!
We had a great time! Now the count is down for summer!
