We woke up bright and early on this day to head over to Rocky Mountain National Park. We had entry ticket reservations from 8-10 am for the Dream Lake/Emerald Lake Hike entrance. After mapping our the location of the hike, we realized we had about a 2 hour drive to get there...oops! But we enjoyed the long drive through the entire Rocky Mountain Park! The drive really was one of the best parts, so it worked out for the best!
We had to park and ride the shuttle over the entrance of the Bear Lake hiking trail, which turned out to be pretty convenient actually. Levi especially loves any new form of transportation :)
It was quite a steep incline up to the three different lakes. Bear Lake was first, then Dream Lake, and we even made it to the top, Emerald Lake. We stopped quite a bit on the way up, mostly to give Kyler's little legs a rest. But the views were amazing, so stopping and taking in the view was what we all really needed.

Emerald Lake
Dream Lake
We saw a lot of wild life along the drive and our hike as well. Elk, Deer, Marmots, a Moose, etc! It was really amazing!
Bear Lake
We stopped quite a bit just to take pictures and enjoy the scenery! So beautiful!
The drive!! We stopped at all the visitors centers, stopped to check out the wildlife, the gift shops, and the Junior Ranger station. Kyler received another badge for completing the pledge. He was so embarrassed, not sure why, but he sure loves his badge! And was super proud of it after the pledge was over. Cute boy!
Katelyn got the front seat for awhile, those winding roads made a tad nauseous. The view from the front seat was way better!
More snow!!
We made it back to the YMCA in time to tour around the property a little more. We drove around and saw all the rental cabins, a homestead from the 1800s, we found the lake for fishing, the horse stables, etc. We settled on dinner at the dinning hall and then played at this fun mountain side playground until bedtime!
Definitely a memorable day! We love the Rockies!
