We traveled up to DFW after the New Year for the high school cheer competition. It was held at the Ft. Worth Convention Center in downtown. The girls got to stay in a hotel downtown, but the boys and I stayed I stayed in Carrollton with Mimi & Pops.
They performed at 8:41 Thursday morning, then we had to wait.

They made the finals!! So the whole gang, minus Lex who had to work from home, came up that evening to watch. It was so fun to watch! They ended up in 6th place out of 55+ teams in 3A Division II.

During the day while we waited to see if they would make it to finals, we toured around the Stockyards!
We met Mimi, Pops, & Sandi for lunch at Los Vaqueros. Then walked around the stockyards more. The boys did this maze, we went in the museum, shopped for cowboy boots, etc.
And Kyler bought himself a harmonica!! He's a natural!
Oh and we saw the cattle drive TWICE! 11:30 & 4. We waited and waited until we found out the girls made it to the finals!! Then we headed back to town and didn't leave until 9 pm! It was a long day, but so glad we got to watch!
We quickly checked out the water gardens too. A little scary because the boys wanted to climb on everything, but a very cool park too!
And of course our last morning in Carrollton, Pops made waffles!! A favorite for sure!
We hit up their favorite Carrollton park, they climbed the tree in the backyard, the girls got our nails done, and the boys played pickle ball. Shane came over to visit while we were there too. It was great to catch up with him, for sure! Wish we could have seen his whole fam!
Mimi & Pops are getting serious about selling this house, so we had to take a picture in front of the fireplace, just in case it was the last :( But we'll be happy to have them closer, if they do decide to move!
