Katelyn Lately

Track started in February and she's been training hard and doing great! The season started strong, but we think a growth spurt stemmed a lag in nutrition and she hasn't been feeling great the last few weeks. She still managed to get 3rd in the 800 and 1600 for our district, helping the Varsity girls get 1st as a team and qualifying individually for Area. They run tomorrow, so lots of prayers she is feeling stronger tomorrow at her race. We've been helping her crack down on fueling her body with good, nutritious things so hopefully it'll work!

Love these pics from Keeley McKinney - Coach McKinney's daughter and Katelyn's English teacher. We are going to miss them both next year as Coach is retiring and Keeley is moving to Colorado. We're going to need to hire a photographer, I never take pictures because I know she will :)

Mid March they ran the Alamo Mile and Katelyn PR'd with a 5:32!! They all PR'd at the race, it was so fun to watch!

The next weekend we drove up to DFW to run in the Southlake Carroll Distance Festival. Unfortunately, Katelyn's race was cancelled due the weather, but she did get to cheer on Sadie & Brooklyn. There were some really fast kids at this meet!!  And we got to stay with Pops in Carrollton and taught Katelyn how to play Rummy! Plus, we did a little shopping so the trip was definitely still worth it!

And I found a few pictures on her camera roll of friends I thought I would include too....

while babysitting the Nichols & Tackitt kiddos!

Also in February, she had cheer tryouts for next year's team! She was so nervous, but had nothing to worry about - she made Varsity again and is so excited!!

Congratulations!! We love our girl!
