Hawai'i - Day 3

I woke up super early again so I decided to take my coffee down to the rocky shore to enjoy. Kyler joined me later and we spotted more crabs, took some pictures, and played some ping pong!

Once everyone else woke up, we ate breakfast, packed a lunch, and decided to head back to the same beach from the day before. Only this time we wanted to hike a little further. We saw a few other people trek further across a lava field to what looked like an even bigger white sand beach. The drive across the lava field was easier this time since we knew what to expect, but still hilarious!

We started walking and had to stop and take some pics along the way. We found this small beach here and I was ready to plop down and relax, but Lex wanted to keep going, so we walked and walked and walked. It was hot and Kyler definitely complained :)

This is a small portion of the walk, it was LONG....but again, so worth it!!!

We found paradise!

Levi was our GoPro videographer!

Full Hawaiian Picnic Lunch:
Poke, Macadamia Nuts, & Papaya (plus strawberries). I could do this everyday :)

That afternoon we had booked a trip with Fair Winds to go snorkeling, so we packed up and hiked back to the truck and headed straight over to the dock to check in.

It was about a 45 minute ride over to the Captain Cook Monument area, where we snorkeled.  Captain Cook was the person who put Hawai'i on a map. It had technically already been discovered but he made it known. Kyler had read about him in one of his novels recently and was super excited to see the spot he first landed in Hawai'i.

Once we parked, we were given freedom to explore wherever we wanted. The boat had two giant slides into the water, so they wanted to start with that....

And the jumping platform...

Then it was time to snorkel! Lex really enjoyed this a lot! It was quite cold, so I enjoyed it for a bit and then came out and took pictures. We brought our GoPro on the trip for this very experience, but in the middle of it water got inside and it shut down, luckily we were able to capture a few underwater pictures and videos before it broke.

After snorkeling they gave us unlimited supply of pineapple and sweet potato chips! And we got a good show of some spinner dolphins not far from the boat! I love watching dolphins play!

That evening we had dinner in the condo and Lex and I walked down to the coast line to watch the sunset around 7:30, when we came back to the condo this is how we found all three kids! They were out and didn't wake up till the next morning at a normal hour, not even super early!
